The peak of the series is early third year when the main group was Tomoko, Yuri, Nemo, Asuka and Akane since it was a manageable amount of characters who all had different personalities that meshed really well. All the characters have become flanderized, their interactions are no longer interesting and Tomoko's growth has stalled. There's a reason the series is back to where it was in the post-anime, pre-third year years where nobody really cared much about it. They had something great and completely pissed it away doing stupid shit nobody wants to read about instead of continuing with the things that were making it popular.
