as long as Naruto part 2 is canon nothing can be made with this retarded series that truly is interesting. We're never given an actual in-universe reason for why Naruto is an absent father and husband, months later Kishimoto is asked about it and he effectively said "look, Boruto had to be relatable".
The issue isn't even solved in a good way, Naruto never really apologizes to Himawari and Boruto stops being angry because Naruto nearly died, not because the neglect stopped.
If the idea was that Naruto was INTETIONALLY avoiding his family to work more because he subconsciously knows his dream job sucks and is trying to convince himself otherwise and as the story progresses he decides it's not worth it, then that would've been a good way to show him as flawed in a non-romantized way while also being interesting.

not really. my idea is to make the world feel bigger. the ninja villages are just that, secluded isolated ninja villages the represent the military strength of each country. my story is simply how the outside world would react to the war with a literal deity. i think the outside world would be a little suspicious of the ninjas after that. i mean you could say hey the ninjas saved the world but from another perspective the ninjas power tripped and tried to provoke and fight a god instead of worshiping it. it's a little inspired by how the 4rth season of AoT starts. Watching a story that you know the outcome of, without it being filled with lore like GOT universe, just doesn't sound all that interesting. Frankly there's a lot of potential in the franchise, and a prequel is a bit cheap of away to try to tackle it in theory, but I'd take that in a heartbeat over the garbage fest that the Boruto storyline is. Holy goddamn I have not seen something so completely missing the point and up its own ass in forever like this.
