There is only so much media now and only so much old media that is good. So yeah recent media is shit, old media is good and there is dwindling options for people who before, only focused on one piece of media that they relied on year over year.Pseud-post over. One Piece especially early has a more lax atmosphere and is goofier. Also the anime for the most part is weekly toei slop. Bleach and Naruto got better treatment. Post covid it is now getting clout. Also toei is taking animating it seriously.

Naruto and Bleach aired on Toonami with pretty faithful dubs. One Piece did not.
Series like Naruto, Bleach, and AoT all ended. So One Piece is the last really BIG ongoing series left so everyone, from normal readers to content creators, all flooded to it to because it still feels important. Also helped that streaming made it easier to watch it all.
