Because most casuals aren't smart enough to care. We're talking about people who think a bigger image is better because it's bigger, will accept DNR because it looks more modern, will throw a fit if there are black bars on the side of their screen and will, UNIRONICALLY, try to make things 60fps. The amount of people who care about video quality are in the staggering minority and it's distressing as hell.

What's wrong with Sailor Moon's BD?

Is the BD on the right? What's it in comparison to?

They're pretty much inept.

Because
>Cel anime often used post production techniques that involved modifying and overlaying film, more than just animating cels but real stitched together stuff, so there isn't necessarily original film versions in the first place and if there is the film versions may be damaged or lost
>Early digital anime was made in 480p without vector scaling or anything so upscaling it is basically shotty AI upscaling

Because most people don't understand anything. They think its like modern games where 4k is better (which is) but fail to understand that the master is more important in music/video

>The DNR cropped DBZ are selling like 200 time a month
>The Orange Bricks even more

People main argument is that "its cheap" "i can't see the difference" hell, even 5090s gaming tard will tell you that they don't see "difference". They just want to keep releasing and milking the fanbase. People bitched about the 30th anniversary release, yet retards are buying the "walmart'"shitty steelbook (more expansive than the 6k limited with a figure lol) for like 150$ a pop on ebay LMAO
