episode 1 is pretty good so farat least for the first few minutes, i'd say they produced sorachi's rhythm better than most gintama episodes i saw honestly! :D(i didn't watch all of them, more of a manga guy)

I read this one-shot ages ago, since it was included in one of Gintama's earlier volumes. I vaguely remember what happens in it though, so I can't say how good of an adaptation this is. I watched the first episode so far, and yeah, this is a Hideaki Sorachi story through and through, from the style of comedy, to the way he writes character interactions, to the pop culture references, to the sentimental moments that punctuate the story. Decent stuff.
