Or you can think of it like this. Slice-of-life moments from shoujo get cut up, shuffled, and remixed into "mixtape" of SoL scenes, and that becomes CGDCT. More or less.Same thing happens on the shounen side. You get small pockets of romcom, comedy, and SoL moments inside battle manga, but perhaps less in the anime. Then you strip those moments out, glue them together, and suddenly you have a SoL comedy show (often aimed at girls), like Hetalia, Kuroko no Basuke's moements in their room (it's funny how they end the series with a SoL moment, not in the basketball court.) But the biggest difference is camera focus. In something like Uruwashi no Yoi no Tsuki(romance aired last cour), the girl talk and boy talk scenes are fun, but the framing still stays centered on the FMC and MMC.The friends feel like droids or AI made to make the FMC/MMC cuter. The camera and the drama are fixated on them. Meanwhile, CGDCT and typical comedy SoL shows tend to distribute attention more evenly across characters, almost no hierarchy, no real center.And honestly, the most annoying part of a lot of shoujo is how sickeningly sex brain they are.
