Man, they keep teasing all this cool hand-drawn stuff. Imagine if this was what we actually got. There was an entire scene done entirely in 2D, I guess they didn't have the models ready.Also, the direction in this is pretty bad. Nothing has weight, all these iconic moments just come of flat.

Here's an easy hack to make the experience much more enjoyable. Start the episode, minimize it to the background, find the manga chapter of that same episode, then just read the manga along with voice dub and sound effects. It actually works very well, thanks to the faithfulness of lines and lack of filler.

The original manga, anime, and movie are some of my favorite things, so it's a BIG downgrade. I find it growing on me anyway because it's not unwatchably bad CG like Souten no Ken, and the voice acting is at least good.
the CGI is always gonna look bad so the only thing that matters is the adaptation itself. I'm glad they're already killing Shin though I would've preferred if they just had done it in ep 4. I want to get to Rei and Mamiya.

I wish they didn't extend the fights and add more back and forth for the sake of making it more "interesting". Hokuto no Ken's fights are more like gunfights where the martial arts are so ultra deadly it's more about the buildup and it can over in a few exchanges. It's strengths aren't in the same place as other battle shonen which came after.
