If you weren't part of the community and discussing chapters every week you probably wouldn't piece it together on the spot. I just read the entire series in two weeks without talking about it with anyone. IIRC even the characters fought Sukuna in the end under the assumption that Cleave and Dismantle were different. It doesn't help that technique can be used to mean just about anything and innate techniques are just a kind of cursed technique but often characters will use cursed technique when they're specifically referring to innate techniques.Also I guess Kenjaku sealed a finger in Yuji as a baby, but that's never clearly said anywhere. The wiki says it's on the second page of Chapter 257, but no it isn't. It just says Yuji was born to be a vessel for Sukuna from the beginning. That explains why he was a player in the Culling Game, I'm not saying Gege just pulled shit out of his ass, but stuff like this never gets clearly explained to the reader.

Naruto, Bleach, Hunter x Hunter and JoJo's Bizarre Adventure don't elicit that kind of reaction out of people. There's more catharsis in JJK than those series despite being so much shorter. That's pretty impressive.
