This looks closer to LWA while Frieren follows-up from Guru Guru genre-wise. So kind of.

This is a coming of age story for adolescent girls of somewhat tragic and/or sad traumatic past, with a lot of tropes absorbed from similar stories involving magic and witches and master-student relations and interactions. the most uncomfortable early suggestion/implication is probably the fact that he is much older, can wipe memories, and spends that much time with so many little girls. the author says he's gay, but gay men have been known to abuse children of the opposite gender anyway, but otherwise I don't think this is wokeshit in that sense. it's fairly bog standard for anime. the animation is well above average but the story and character development is AT best a 4 or 5 out of 10. the manga art is great as well, but the same issue with the substance of the story. maybe I'm just not the target audience.
