I've been trying to wrap my head around this for 20 years.1: Ken sees Shin at the top of the stairs.2: Then he sees Yuria at the top of the stairs even though she wasn't there before.3: Then he goes up the stairs and they fight up there, and suddenly Yuria's throne is really far away, so Shin can stagger to it when he starts losing.To make matters worse, in the original anime, it looks like Ken starts walking up the stairs but then backflips off the stairs as Shin jumps at him, making them look like they are fighting downstairs, until Shin manages to stagger to Yuria anyway, even though she's still upstairs. In the new anime, Ken goes up the stairs and as soon as he gets to the top, the stairs disappear and they are in the room they fight in in the manga with the statue, only unlike the restricted camera angle of the manga, it looks like the stairs and Yuria's throne have disappeared entirely...
