I actually found it to be fine and after UBW found Deen stay night to be a better follow up than UBW was for Zero. Deen isn't perfect but it has a lot going for it. I don't really care that it's not a perfect adaptation, and I really appreciate it continuing and finishing up Saber's storyline. Fundamentally Zero is about Saber so UBW just dropping the ball with her was really disappointing. The music from Deen is also excellent, along with some really well animated scenes here and there. There really isn't anything quite like it's first OP imo
