A first-year Japanese animator’s pay stub
>>287570952Total annual earnings of just $4,600 USD.
per hour? worse than slaves
>>287570987>>287571014Annual.
>>287570952>newfag learns something everybody has known for years just because an skibbidy tiktoker told him
>>287570952low morals gaijin idiot
>>287570952this is common knowledge, and animators know this before getting the jobnobody is forcing them to do this
>>287570952Why do we keep allowing Twitter screenshots here
Why don't they unionize? Are they stupid?
This took me two seconds to googleWhat's wrong with you stupid gullible retards
>>287570987>>287571024No way in hell.
>>287570952the work is its own reward
Do they still charge animators to use their workspace? I remember some controversy around it like 15 years ago.
>>287571024cap
>>287570952I make 33K working part time. Really puts things into perspective for the Mappa wagie.
>>2875723278 dollars an hour was what i was earning like 15 years ago.minimum wage is almost $15 here.
>>287572281unionization is collectivization, and collectivization is evil, sweaty.
>>287571040>an skibbidyhttps://youtu.be/A_IDGrKZ0Rs
>>287572327AI is only as smart as the person who formulated the query.
The cost of living in Japan is very low. Animation is not a full time job.
>>287574674And Azns are huge collectivists. Anyway it's only even when it's accompanied by authoritarianism, but societal collectivisation is retarded because it squashes individualism, personal responsibility and free thinking.
>>287570952that's just one production, though.
>>287570952First-year animators are literally 10x slower than seasoned professionals.
I remember that old image with an animator wagie saying:"I like drawing cute girls :)" with 2IQ stare. They deserve that wage since they're fine with working on slop.
>>287570952A month? That's perfectly fine.
This happens in every entertainment medium. They run on passion. Every single person who starting working in anime, video games, movies and television want to create something their own and will do anything to do it even if it means working 80+ hours a week for peanuts.
>>287574924This. Its literally an entirely different standard of living.>>287577214The amount of cope trash like you put forward to justify your painful occupations never ever stops looking more filthy.
>>287574650I think if you check you'll find that that's a de factor arrangement in certain service industries and not the law in your state.
>>287577451well shit. after china takes over im moving to chinan
>>287574924There's a site that accounts for this in conversions, but I forget what it was.
>>287574924That is even lower than my 3rd world shithole
>>287577398True, that's why it all needs to belong to the truly dedicated: the owners of capital.
>>287574924Not that low, anon. This is less than the most basic autism bux tier in my post-commie country, and those autism bux are given to you with the expectation that you’re still mostly fit to work and most of your income will come from your actual job.
>>287572327manga artists fall under some sort of intern no min wage thing. no health insurance no min wage no holidays etc.
>>287574872>both are retarded
>>287577398Anime hasnt been a passionate medium in years, otherwise originals wouldn't have died out
>>287578265fourth retard here, entering the conversation
>>287572281They view unions as communism apparently
>>287578407what'd you think of train to the end of the world>>287578418unions gave Australia their own Edo period
>>287578407And they didn't.
>>287570952And then people ask why animation quality has gotten worse over the years. People are paid shit and you expect Akiras.
>>287570952For a month, right?
>>287572281worked well for westoids right? oh wait, it just killed animation over there for decades until outsourcing to korean slaves became viable
>>287570952>>287571024>animator´s fridge
>>287578407manga and LNs have passionate fans too, anon>>287572281Toei is union and there might be othersbut there are also a lot of small studios which aren't making that much either (while production committees make bank) which kind of throws in a barrier to organizing, the indirect structure makes it so it's not your *employer* screwing you. Plus a lot of people who really want to join the field if strikebreakers are needed.
>>287581032character designs ruined after 1 episode
>>287574674Say that to the japanese society.
>>287578407This guy doesn't watch anime and will say "it doesn't count!" when you show originals to him.
>>287572281Only Toei formed a union. The advantage of a union is that it can guarantee animators' salaries, but the disadvantage is that it cannot force overtime, which makes it difficult for Toei to improve the quality of its animations.
>>287573917The companies don't pay the subscription costs for the digital workspace programs animators use or they actually charge them for having an office?
>>287578407watch more anime
>>287570987That's the monthly pay but OP is a fag, the minimum wage for anyone in japan is 210 thousand yens monthly, if is bellow that well you call the union and they will destroy the company image so 700 thousand yens monthly is good pay in japan, if it was in reality 700 thousand yens that would mean he is a freeter (part time worker) that only works half day each week because even freeters make more money around 180 thousand monthly working 2 days each week.
