Anyone feel like we were robbed of Sonic X never airing on american TV? In several countries, it got to air on Jetix, but the Jetix in america never aired it and I have no fucking idea why.

It was never on any of the cable channels I had as a kid, which was Nick, Disney, Cartoon Network and yes, because my family had enough money and was willing to pay for digital cable, we also had Toon Disney, which had Jetix, as well as Discovery Kids, Nickelodeon Games and Sports (or Nick GAS for short), Noggin, and Nicktoons Network. None of which had Sonic X. The only channel I watched as a kid that wasn't cable was PBS Kids. Sonic X wasn't even seen once on any of them.

It did air on American TV, it was part of the Fox Box.

I must not have had that channel and I thought I had all the channels except Boomerang back in the day. My parents were willing to pay money for so many channels.

>Fox Box
Wait a minute, that name sounds very similar to Fox Kids, which originally aired Sonic X in various countries before it was renamed Jetix.

4kids did localize it, tough of course they butchered it with censorship and replacing the music. We were luckier in Europe, we got direct translations from the Japanese version.

You definitely had it on FOX. I watched it on analog broadcast before we even paid for cable.

Only France. The rest of Europe got the 4Kids dub with an even worse opening.

I remember them handing us one of these promotional boxes at the Toys R Us checkout line when my parents were getting me Bionicles. I think it had a CD with all the theme songs on it. Must have been 2002. Fuck I'm old. I also remember Kinnikuman and the Kirby anime from that block

That's weird, I don't remember seeing it in the kids menus back then. Back where I lived, Nick was channel 25, Disney was 24, PBS was channel 2, Cartoon Network was channel 60 and then the expensive channels were in the 200s. 220 was Nicktoons, 221 was Discovery Kids, 222 was Toon Disney, 223 was Noggin and then 224 was Nick GAS. I literally didn't look at any other channel, because the non-cable channels didn't seem to air cartoons aside from PBS Kids. Saturday morning cartoons were literally dead by then.

and by saturday morning cartoons were literally dead, I mean they didn't seem as popular as say the 70s or the 80s or the 90s. My dad was still watching saturday morning cartoons even when he was an adult in the early 90s.

It aired on Saturday mornings on your local Fox affiliate

Wait, I take that back. Kids WB did really well in the 2000s, mostly because of Pokemon and Yu-Gi-Oh. They had other hits too, but they were propped up by those two massive juggernauts.

Even then, I had no idea Kids WB existed back in the day because I thought WB was just for adult oriented shows.

That's a really limited time to air a show when series like Dragon Ball Z and Naruto could air everyday because of the power of Cartoon Network.
>>

It aired on Sunday on mine.

Kids WB had Pokemon, Yugioh, and a completely chopped up to hell version of Cardcaptor Sakura. I only remember seeing Digimon and Monster Rancher on Fox Kids.

There was a weekday afternoon block for reruns, but it died by the mid 2000s because cable was winning too much. From the late 90s to early 00s my puritan mom only let us have the rabbit ears, so that's all we got. Had to go to a friend's house to watch Toonami.
