>>287624645Yeah, I was thinking. I think it's too soon to call Fujimoto a hack from one flop. Not many mangaka have more than 1 or 2 widely praised and popular manga. Fujimoto has FOUR: Firepunch, CSM part 1, goodbye eri, and look back. Fujimoto is clearly talented and has a unique vision in the manga industry. I think we all need to give him a second chance to redeem himself. Not every movie many prominent directors have made, like spielberg, coppola, ridley scott, have been smashes. For example, noone really like the godfather 3 compared to the godfather 1 and 2. But they are clearly very talented people. Fujimoto is very young and still has a long career ahead of him. I do think he definitely needs to be supervised more though if he makes another long running manga again.

>>287623135Actually not bad at all. He did a good job imitating the art, paneling style, and writing of Fujimoto. Some weird stuff with the writing that doesnt seem like fujimoto writing, but overall its actually decent and I like how the war devil was dealt with. If the ending was more like this, it could have lead to a part 3 better where they "deal" with the famine devil. Like in part 3, the famine devil grows all powerful and goes out of control because the flood of bugs and giant bug devils destroyed 99% of the vegetable and meat food supplies in the entire planet, and humanity becomes afraid of dying of starvation or something. It would have been interesting from Denji's perspective because then the rest of the world would be "starving" in a similar way that he was in the beginning of Part 1 and that would have been an interesting angle to explore. Part 3 could have also feature the "rescue Power" arc that everyone was waiting for, where Denji and friends go to hell to find the blood devil. And in a part 4 they finally "deal" with the death devil in a way that doesn't inadvertantly cause the apocalypse anyway like removing the idea of death. Part 4 might have featured a timeskip where you see Nayuta grow up and look like makima again, and possibly regain her memories somehow but she is still changed and helps Denji and friends deal with the death devil in a way that doesn't destroy the world anyway. In this way, she would become the piccolo/vegeta of the series as a villian turned protaganist. Then by "dealing" with all four horseman of the apocalypse, then humanity is safe. I think that would have been a more satisfying ending.
