If you like Mikuru, the series itself is poison to you. A similar phenomenon could be seen in Hataraku Maou-sama, where people loved Chiho when the anime was new, but avoided the series after learning of the heavy pushing of Emi right after where the anime ended. Ironically, it actually went back on it and let Chiho win in the end, but just ended up disappointing both sides.
