>character is referred to by they/them pronouns
>he is clearly a man
Why does this happen? Hate it when I'm enjoying a manga and have to drop it cause the translators don't know english
>>
not my problem. learn japanese
>>
It's annoying when people do this shit. Real people don't go by alternative pronouns, and using "they" as a singular for an indeterminate person, either for speaking of a hypothetical somebody or for when there's ambiguity about someone and you don't yet know which sex they are. If it's a sexless thing it's an "it."

I only see that happen when the character is very androgynous looking and of unconfirmed gender thus far. They usually do that because in the past there have been translations where a character was referred to by a specific gender pronoun and then it turns out the translators got the gender wrong

So instead of taking a 50/50 guess or using what fits best and changing it later if they got it wrong, they go for a 100% wrong every time gambit.

Blame the English language for not having genderless pronoun for a single person like Japanese

>he is clearly a man
He's not, he used to be a woman. Or she used to be. See the problem.

Also when is Kaihen coming back.

Oh boohoo, so that just lets them write whatever nonsense they want?
There are myriad of ways of writing the sentence without any pronouns, which is the preferred solution, but that would require thinking about it.
>>
I hate seeing it encouraged in media, but I'm glad when people announce their pronouns in real life because it's a sure sign that I don't need to take them seriously and can avoid interacting with them without fear of regret.

That would just make it unnessecairly awkward to kowtow to triggered snowflakes like yourself

I accept your defeat.

yes, english is a very primitive language, your fault for being born in a shitty country, just learn japanese and avoid those problems

In my native language it'd be very easy to translate thoughever.
Also me learning jap isn't going to fix this horrible translator scene unless I start doing the scantalating myself.
>>
Not my problem western faggots don't have neutral pronouns.
Have he and she but no neutral ones, what bunch of faggots.
>>

there are agender pronouns in Japanese and they often use those to tell you the character is a faggot. If you want to translate it accurately, you definitely have to use agender pronouns, because you don't really get away with "that person" without sounding really stupid and obviously trying to hide something.

English has a pronoun for gender-neutral/genderless people, "it"
