Is starting an anime physical media collection worth it?
>>
>>287600404
define worth
>>
No. Especially not buying inferior releases like VHS tapes like this retarded picture shows.
>>
>>287600404
>japanimation
This was an actual thing used in marketing? I thought it was just a 4chins meme,
>>
>>287600404
If the goal is to have a library of shows you always have access to, you may have missed the boat on that one. If you're just collecting as a novelty like your pic related then it's feasible if you stick to one or two IPs.
>>
>>287600404
If you find value in it, then sure.
I like my collection because I have all my favorite shows. There are some DVDs/BDs I have which I haven't watched yet, and there are some I have which I wonder why I bought them. But its nice to have them all readily available to watch at any moment. Digital copies are nice too.

no offense, but i am actually curious about your age
>>
>>287600793
It's only Gen X weirdos who called it japanimation lol. Most of whom never liked anime in the first place.
>>
>>287600404
Do you enjoy buying things? If you don't enjoy buying things, no. If you do, yes. I think a lot of people on this board would be much happier if they justified their decisions based on whether they want to or not, and not based on what autistic freaks on a basket weaving forum say.
>>
>>287600404
It's your fucking money
>>
The boat left on that one years ago, but there are plenty of Blurays to keep the physical dream alive.
>>
>>287600404
Do YOU think it's worth it?
>>
>>287600404
No, send me your money instead
>>
>>287600404
If you are rich or only buying new stuff, yeah, because since 2020 everything that is "out of print" done a x3/x4

Like lets say you like FMA and want to buy the physical stuff, its going to cost 1000$ 2020+ instead of 200$ 2019-

Yeah, why spend your money doing something that makes you happy when you could be prioritizing someone else's interests to look better to others.
>>
>>287602700
Does it really make you happy tho?
Are you truly satisfied when your sealed vhs copy of battle athletes turns up or are you just going to immediately search for something else to buy
>>
>>287602875
>>287600404
The money would be better spent on prostitutes
>>
>>287602875
Explain to me the difference between the happiness you feel when you waste money on a simple pleasure because it gratifies an interest you have and devote time to, and "true" happiness that comes from some honorable pastime, that doesn't boil down to "one only exists in my imagination as an infallible and pure version of happiness"
>>
>>287602954
nta but anime/otaku culture at its peak is just high level consumerism, you are technically participating more in otaku culture by buying buying buying because that is otaku culture; so if you derive a form of joy from otaku culture then of course buying more should technically make you enjoy it even more.
>>
>>287602954
True happiness doesn't require constant gratification
>>
>>287603023
And is this "true happiness" in the room with us?

You'd be better off achieving your full potential
>>
>>287600404
If you have to ask then no
>>
>>287600404
Nope. It takes up space, you need to dust it every so often, and after you die it'll either all get thrown in the trash or be owned by someone else
>>
>a visual tour de force
>>
>>287600404
You cannot take these things with you when you die, and they will not impress your grandchildren.

>for Windows 95
If we're currently using Windows 11, how is it that there was an earlier version called 95?
>>
>>287601106
Just answer the question zoomtard.
>>
>>287600620
Yes
