Does this deserve the "pedo" backlash, or are people just disturbed by the concept and looking for a reason to hate it?It could always be the former, given the way people get heated over normal age gaps the guy being just 17 and who knows how many days old while the MC is an average married couple's age gap older than him could really get people that heated by itself, but I think it's the latter and people are just looking for an excuse to trash it because the concept seems like pure nightmare fuel? From everything I've read, this series is very much one of those that only get more disturbing the more you think about them.
Man what happened to the anime fanbase, I remember Godannar Goh groomed Anna and nobody fucking cared.
>>287618181That's why I think the age gap thing is just a convenient excuse, because talking about how creepy everything about the concept is would be too uncomfortable to people.
stop going on twitter and caring what the fuck normalfags have to say about any anime or mangaI didn't even know this boring as fuck anime had "pedo backlash", I watched it in one sitting on a whim
Sex with Kinme.
>>287618378Twitter is THE reason for the death of the otaku soul.
>>287619061Streaming.
>>287619175The soul of the otaku was not in the method of broadcasting. It's in the community, the conversation of it all. Twitter made it open to normalfags who put their grubby hands on everything and nobody can resist their money.
>>287618135>Kinme says "The police can't find evidence of your misconduct against children if you wash it all away"
>>287618358To expand on this a bit: There's a good chance Kinme will spend the rest of her life not even being sure whether that is her actual name because of how bad her amnesia is, nevermind whether she has friends or family somewhere else, and both in and out-of-universe, nobody seems to give a shit about it, only seeing her as a provider of a paid service and a potential love interest to another character. This story is beyond grim to a point that would give most horror authors a pause.
>>287618135Change the genders and you'll chimp out.>>287618378>Older woman>Twitter chimpout???? Really?
>>287618135You should kill yourself.
normies will call relationships with adult women pedophilia I just dont care at this point man if it means they stay out of my hobby then good I've been jerking off to anime girls for longer than most of these zoomers have been alive
>>287619430>Change the genders and And their age gap is now the same as that of an average married couple not just in length but also in the direction it goes in.
>>287618135Wait so this anime is teenage man/older woman? Am I hearing this right? Hmmm
>>287619460I would if I were Kinme because of >>287619428Her situation is existentially terrifying in multiple ways, and I'd rather be in an extreme horror story than in her shoes.
The romance in the anime was lacking. They spent too much of the run time lewding Kinme. Is it like this in the manga?
>>287619428>>287619573It isn't the usual sort of identity death situation that is really horrifying. The timeframe in which she has working memory is enough to live a normal life. It isn't even like Alzheimer's either in that she is retaining memory even if it cuts off after a certain point. I don't think it is even necessarily confirmed that her condition is what is causing her to forget stuff from years ago after her becoming cognisant since people's memory does gradually fade as time goes on. Yes it could be a horrifying situation in a certain sense but only if there were external influences from her old life impacting the new one. Otherwise is basically just falls into normal existential dread from having to acknowledge your own mortality.
>>287618135What backlash? Barely anybody even watched this anime. The only commentary I really have seen was that it was boring (accurate).
>>287619546Glad you're finally joining us.
>>287618135Now imagine if Kleanme legally adopted Wonderboy and then bedded him.
>>287620520>Yes it could be a horrifying situation in a certain sense but only if there were external influences from her old life impacting the new one.Honestly, it’s the opposite I’d say. The fact that most of what she was is gone and no one from her old life, if she even has anyone since she obviously doesn’t know that, seems bothered, while even the people from her new life aren’t too pressed about it is just depressing.>>287620619From what I’ve seen, discussions about and reactions to it on Reddit and MAL are dominated by discourse on the age gap between her and Kyu, but fair enough.
>>287618135this is like the dude debunking Pizzagate conspiracy and also hate anime for being "for pedo" to eventually being found out he's an actuall pedo
kys bland ass fag self inserter, Kinme is for brother-kun
>>287620783You have to know what you lost for it to have a real impact. And that is where the external influences would play a part since it can add that context. Otherwise if you don't know what was lost and it isn't concerning your or creeping into your life then it isn't a problem. For anyone on the outside looking in it could appear horrific, but from the inside looking out you would lack appropriate context to know whatever it should be considered a sad or scary thing or not. By all accounts it could also be a happy thing if viewed as a fresh start having potentially escaped a not so great life.
>>287620898>Otherwise if you don't know what was lost and it isn't concerning your or creeping into your life then it isn't a problem. For anyone on the outside looking in it could appear horrific, but from the inside looking out you would lack appropriate context to know whatever it should be considered a sad or scary thing or not.The thing is though, even lacking any knowledge on what you’ve lost, you can infer a lot of things just by keeping in mind who you are and your situation. If you’re a young adult who should have living parents and other relatives who should be missing you, but no one’s looking for you, that says something. If you make friends easily and quite clearly aren’t someone people would hate, yet any friends you’d have also don’t seem to be looking for you, that also brings up uncomfortable questions. If you see how key people’s longer-term interests, passions, and memories are to their lives, while you might just as well be an NPC that spawned out of nowhere to do a specific job, that would almost certainly make you wonder what you’ve lost (and is what would happen in any version of this story even slightly darker than what we have).
>>287621079It is a coin flip. This sort of amnesia is basically a full reset in terms of personality. You may retain a certain amount of muscle memory but you have no way of knowing the sort of person you were prior of the circumstances you might have been under. Absent any external factors like pre-existing family/friends/work you may have no way of gaining real context for it either. It is for all intents and purposes a clean break unless something rocks the boat and not everyone is going to be hung up on trying to figure out or reclaim their old life if things are going well now. Because it is a gamble. It is also entirely possible someone close to her has done some digging or knows what her previously life is like and chose not to tell her for whatever reason or just decided it wasn't their place to thrust that upon her unless she herself decides she wants to dig it up. Not to mention that ultimately even if you do find out about your previous life it doesn't mean you'll get the memories back and that could just end up making you more frustrated.
Sex with Kinme
>Jesus Christ Kinme, you are the bay harbour boy toucher
>>287622015>You can cum in KinmeWhat did she mean by this?
>>287620783>reactions to it on Reddit and MALwho fucking cares, post more Kinme
>>287623101Is this really an appropriate photo to put on your social media marketing for your business?
>>287619061>>287619208and that's a good thing, otaku killed anime
>>287621079>while you might just as well be an NPC that spawned out of nowhere to do a specific jobI guess this is the heart of what is so uncomfortable about the show to people and why they are trying to disengage from it by just blindly hitting it with the pedo allegations. People have lives outside of their work and those lives and interests are how they define themselves, but Kinme's situation, and the way nobody around her is really bothered by it, is a reminder that if everything about what you consider to be what defines "you" and who "you" are were just stripped away and all you were left was the work you do, nobody might even care.>>287621211Obviously the show doesn't touch on that from what I've read, but if it were a darker take on the situation, I can imagine Kinme having problems due to health issues she doesn't remember, or a deeper look at just how isolated from normal life she really is since in the show she apparently doesn't understand smartphones and social media, which just brings another layer to how much she has probably lost.
>>287623101your head's in the sand
WASH AWAY THE ANGER
>>287618135Its literally pointless anyway the dude literally moves to Tokyo for school mid-series and barely shows up afterwards
>>287625909Yeah, this is the one age-gap romance outrage that feels so forced that it has even Redditors making fun of other Redditors over it. Don't think I've seen that before. That just adds to my idea that the true reason behind the forced outrage is people's discomfort with the show's entire premise, and the age gap thing is a convenient way to attack it to disengage with it and not think too much about it, kind of like people grasping at "It can't happen, it's unrealistic" after watching a horror movie that got to them. And honestly, what you've mentioned adds another uncomfortable layer to Kinme's situation. Since she's clueless about modern technology and doesn't even seem to have a phone, as that would've allowed her to find her old contacts and for them to contact her, and doesn't even know what Facebook and other social media sites are she's reliant solely on her customers and other people around her for socializing. Unlike her though, those people have larger lives that don't revolve around her, along with ways to stay in contact if they ever leave the town, while she's completely reliant on her immediate environment and hoping that people stay around her and keep visiting her shop. She truly is as close to a backstory-less NPC relegated to just doing a single task and barred from socializing outside of it as possible in a completely realistic world.
