After S3, S4 anime onlies will come to appreciate academy more. It was the same when Rifujin was writing the WN kek he got so much shit for it but I think it did pay off to do everything slowly in the end.Later arcs simply would not have been possible if Rudeus did not establish bonds with other important characters somewhere down the line and that place was academy.Like even Rudy vs Orsted 2 would not have been possible if Cliff and Zanoba were not his best pals at that point Rudeus alone was not smart enough to build the mecha people tend to forget that somewhat. Nor did he build Orsted's curese dampening mask. Basically Rudeus doesn't really invent anything major by himself without support from other characters.
