In terms of characters, Mao and Nanoka are about as different from Inuyasha and Kagome as you can get. And I want to say that the side characters get a little more focus than in Inuyasha, but I've already pretty much forgotten what happened in Inuyasha despite rereading the whole thing just a year or two ago.

>>287671534Yes, and since the usual guy hasn't asked yet, I did make an intermediate revision for the timeline for volume 28 (I consider this a work-in-progress though, so I'm not taking responsibility for any mistakes).Souma's death is the highlight of the volume of course, and even if you don't care for him as a character it's a very nicely executed sequence. Highlights just how big of a bastard Hakubi is, and it ties in nicely with Kagari which in turn ties in nicely with Mei and so on. Long-haired Nanoka was an alright diversion with a little romantic progress. And I absolutely love the Yurako sequence, it's great to see her going on the offensive after spending so much time getting tossed around by others even though it backfires spectacularly in the next volume.
Also, regarding chapter 270 in particular, Kagari makes some funny faces (maybe something about Sasuga has that effect on people)Seriously though, I like the way this chapter portrays Kagari's insecurity about her value, and how that changes after she witnesses Souma's death. And poor Mei's just trying to tell her that shit's not going to end well.
