Why did this war arc feel so lackluster?
Because despite trying to make tragic backstories for the dragon faction, no one cares about them.

And the tragedy of the Bloodline of Roars isn't like the tragedy of Ortho and Arnold who were former humans whose dragon nature and fixation on their dead leader manifested in their fighting mindsets and objectives. I don't hate this arc by any means. I re-read it and the war itself is pretty good. But a lot of the Bloodline of Roars just feel like filler at the end of the day.

We never got to see Raptelika's 100% Dragon form in action.Maybe Kobayashi should have given the Bloodline of Roars two (or even three) more members just to support Bagram against Hakuren and Dulla Pollo, so the other Saints could have had room to show off, and Shin could have fought Skyrim together with Ragna, so that way Skyrim can still come off convincingly as dangerous in his own right.
