In the manga, the Exodia counterfeit player Yugi faces is using tons of wall monsters to stall, and Yugi still manages to destroy his Exodia combo with a spell card. In the anime, he's not using any wall monster and Yugi has to go "Hey! I found your weakness! You have no monster on the field!" and everyone's acting surprised like Yugi is making a 500 IQ observation.
