I am enjoying how people protested so much at Ishiguro keeping Robin alive and thought there must be some redemptive arc or deep secret coming and OK, yeah, he had some bad times with his little sis but every reapprance pretty much confirms he's just an evil fuck.
Also as we get into the endgame I am finding the development and reveal of the mysteries pretty satisfying but one thing that still seems massively clumsy is the doctor just suicide grenading himself moments after meeting Maru and Kiruko. Felt really heavy handed.

Well actually now that I think about it every other page we see was torn out except the two from this chapter so maybe there's nothing else in it. I also just realized this must've been what he was painting 3 chapters ago, which is neat. That also means it's not strange that these were conveniently laid out just for us to see, but considering that it's somewhere that Maru/Yamato will be going I now wonder if he left them there unconsciously for them to find. We'll definitely get a passing remark like Taka and Anzu's wedding at the least but it would be far more interesting if there's more to it.

Maybe the right person in the right circumstances could recognize a picture but these sketches only seem useful as a way for Kona to interpret the future he dreams of. The drawings lead Kona on his journey but without context I don't see anyone else being able to gain much information from them.

There's also Kuku's fish drawing that Kona never encounters. But Maru does, so he's certainly the right person for some and there's still one person who knows they're important, Tokio. Also since we now know they're not just random premonitions it raises a massive question as to WHY Asura showed him some of these.

Finally the plot thickens. I was getting tired of all the mysteries being waved away as the Academy's experiments.So who are these buried monsters? Are they aliens from Nibiru who landed on Earth in the distant past and then the Academy dug one up and tried to recreate? That would explain why Asura looks like an alien and has insane powers, being from the earliest experiments.Also is it just me, or Kiruko looks extra cute this chapter.

The little moment pushed them together more and they soon became a couple after. The premonitions manipulated events even when they weren't directly relevant to things they encountered.

Younger generation of Gods clashing with the previous is common in many myths around the world. Ishiguro might want to write how Izanami was released from her prison/free her from her grudges/ how Amaterasu became the central Goddess of Shinto instead of izanami/izanagi.
