So next up would be the interlude of hero fighting the cosmic horror. Then chapter 8 started with a brief scene of the princess being prisoner before moving onto the party prepping and starting the fight. Given how Kurose's been doing things for a while, I wouldn't be surprised if we skip the intervening scenes and go directly from them arriving at the elevator to them prepping and starting the fight.

Year One consistently has about 25-27 pages of actual content per chapter, while the main series averages only about 20. So even disregarding all story differences, Year One will always feel like it’s progressing more than the main series.I don’t know if something’s up with Kurose or it’s something with the publisher, but it’s sad to see.

The cure miracle might work if it deals with parasitic infections by detaching and killing the parasite and it treats a goblin fetus as a parasite. But both of those are basically "The GM might allow it" not anything currently established in the setting.

Hence there's no space to work with and she can't just hang back or back up to get room. The goblins are also coming in such numbers that GS and Lizard Priest can't stop them all. Meaning they get into melee range of Priestess, HEA, and Dwarf Shaman.

The main series is still covering material already covered by the anime. That makes it much harder to keep up interest or suspense. People already know generally what's going to happen, and they've already seen it depicted visually, so there's not much "new" to be seen. Though Year One also has an advantage in that it's playing leapfrog with the light novel now, and is covering Goblin Slayer at a different time in his life. So when a new arc starts we don't know what'll happen next, and it can afford to be a bit more rough on supporting characters who don't appear in the main series.

A lot of the cast has honestly overstayed their welcome. It's a lot like what happened to Berserk after he got the JRPG party. The party isn't BAD, but they add drag.

Time is of the essence if they want to get the princess back alive, who as far as they know is currently being raped and tortured by goblins. Yet despite this, when Goblin Slayer asks a serious question about how to proceed, Lizard Priest opens with his personal preference of clearing each floor. Though he's obviously joking, HEA likely doesn't consider this the time for bad jokes and is unamused.

The anime staff was so determined to keep her in the blue/white of Priestess’ outfit, that they just tore some random strips off and forgot or ignored that it’d have needed to be removed entirely for the chainmail to be removed, while keeping the chainmail separate like it was supposed to be. Creating this weird scenario where logically the goblins partly redressed Princess, despite there being literally zero reason to do so. So I’m hoping the manga does it a bit better.
