The fights are more like gunfights in a cowboy movie, where there's build up, but only a few exchanges are needed to lead to a lethal blow. If you have to much trading of blows it kind of undermines the super lethal death touch martial arts thing. The original manga hit the right balance while still holding up that you had to be really special to even push Hokuto Shinken. It's supposed to be overpowered.

I really liked this episode. If the whole series were animated like the flashback I think it would be great. All the other components are there: the OST for the episode was good, the voice actors are always killing it, the ED rocks. It's obvious the people making this are passionate about Hokuto no Ken, I just don't understand who gave them the condition "but it HAS to be CGI".
