You really should read the LN after you finish the manga, because it does an extremely good job with its characterization. Maybe it's because if it's already making changes to condense a novel, some things just get drawn, and it's not going to spend a page not having anyone talk while nothing happens. If you are trying to get through the important parts of the story, that's a simple place to make cuts even if it misses important motivations.

Trying to fit even half of the internal monologue from the source material would just clog the pages and make them unpleasant to read, while detracting from the quality of the art. Not to mention how much it would slow the pacing to a crawl. It would be way too fucking much. At the end of the day, it's an adaptation, and manga is a different storytelling medium. So the manga doing things its own way of a good thing, because it's still very much an excellent adaptation.
