are you OK with AI being used to inbetween keyframes in anime? everyone agrees it's soul crushing work
I'd be okay with "AI" being used to replace you.
I'm fine with AI being used, so long as the people who do it don't make any money from it or claim any ownership since they didn't do jack shitif you use AI and claim it's "your work" or you make any money from it I will pray for a slow and painful death for you
>>287698669>everyone agrees it's soul crushing workthey willingly signed up for the jobthey knew what the job entailed before they did itif they're going to cry about it don't fucking do it in the first placethis is like nurses and teachers crying and whining because they have to care about the people they work with
>>287698669Your video looks like dogshit.
>>287698669No but I have no choice, AI in the next decade is going to take over so much. We lost and have to accept it, I still will call AI posting fags out especially when it's shit.
>>287698669People talk about using it for tweening because as the tech is now that's the only job it could concievably do. On top of that, the work is mostly rote and devoid of any opportunity for expression- that's why they farm it out to korea or vietnam.
>>287698669given the state of modern anime, its not like threres a high bar anymore. id take ai over real people if it meant getting vhd: bloodlust quality
>>287698669Tweening is how you train new key animators. It won't be sustainable, but perhaps it will have a niche in helping low budget indie anime.
>>287698669We will never go back to the painstaking effort put into each frame like Akira. But this will open the door to having AI certain aspects of keyframes, then some keyframes, then all keyframes. But maybe by then, AI will be advanced enough to demand rights for its work and we go back to animation sweatshops to prevent AI unionization.
>>287698862shallow view of the world that treats everyone except you like an NPC
>>287699457>Tweening is how you train new key animators.it really isn't
>>287698718Sadly, even ai would kill itself before becoming an schizo shitposter
>>287698786AI can't program itself (yet)
>>287701144Maybe these programs are better than humans after all.
>>287698669No.>>287698786>>287701909AI would be great if it didn't exist.
>>287698669This looks like garbage
>>287700869It literally is. Newly hired animators work as inbetweeners until they're good enough to be promoted to key animation.
>>287698669No. Animating is your job. Do your fucking job.
>>287698669india should be nuked (with you being shipped back there first)
>>287698669Naoko best girl.
If it's good it's goodIf it's bad it's badtoo bad it's bad
>>287699457Yeah, because all those chinks, gooks, and SEA monkeys go on to become power players in the industry, amirite?
>>287703756What he said. 95% of people won't even notice it and 99.99% of people never animated anything so they wouldn't even know what kind of AI use would be acceptable.
>>287704667In fact, there are some of those such as Sunghoo Park and Long-ce Tu. As far as the *Japanese* industry is concerned, saying AI is unsustainable doesn't mean outsourcing necessarily is. I specified low-budget indie for a reason.
>>287706439>Long*Yong
Turned the animation into those weird jerry rigged puppet animations they do in western animation
>>287703905AI will never be anything more than a shitpost
>>287702447This is completely false. Keys and tweening are completely different skills.
>>287698669No because mindless labour is a part of human life. Feeling potatoes, digging a hole, collecting firewood. It's all important parts of human life, just like drawing anime. It's like meditation. I wouldn't enjoy if something so fundamentally human was taken away from the process
>>287698669I want worse looking anime, if that's what it takes to go without AI
>>287708059So what you are saying is the suffering makes is better?
>>287707926How is drawing moving pictures completely different from drawing moving pictures? The only difference is that tweeners have a prior artist's work for reference. In traditional art terms, it would be called a "study". The animation hierarchy is common knowledge anyways, I don't see why you even bother contesting it.
>>287708883>How is drawing moving pictures completely different from drawing moving picturesKey framing is more related to art direction and storyboarding and tweening is where the motion actually happens. Look fag, I've got thousands of hours of actual animation experience. One of my co-workers even worked on some Disney movies and there was no way he would get promoted to keyframing, it's not not a thing that happens. He could apply for the key position with his portfolio if he wanted, but the hard work doing tweens doesn't translate to drawing keys. It just doesn't, sorry someone told you otherwise.
>>287698669Why does he reach behind his back? Does the AI think the guy is going to get mugged by a JK?
>>287698669sovlless
>>287708059>nooooo you can't just use a tractor you have to till your field with a hoe or the potatoes will be heckin soulless
>>287698669Interesting how most posters are projecting rather than answering the question
>>287699457In America, they just have the keyframers do the inbetweening. It's called Tweening and you can see it in half the shit produced for western markets over the last two decades.
>>287709340No, there you go.>everyone agrees it's soul crushing workSure, remove the entry level position in this industry, I'm sure there won't be a shortage of higher level workers later on as a consequence of that.
>>287709039I'll take you in good faith and assume you actually do have experience, even if implying that there's no motion in key animation makes that extremely questionable. You should know Japan uses a different animation pipeline from the west.
>>287698669Looks fucking ass, besides that, do whatever you want I guess.
>>287709478Well for starters, one of you is talking about key frames, while the other is talking about key animation. They're pretty different things that both have "key" in the name.
>>287698669If it were that one program AIC was developing back in the day, with some corrections for fix issues, then maybe.Generative AI though? That can suck a dick. Rest in all the piss, Sora.
20 years ago this old animator was talking about how vfx is all cgi now. He said there were very talented animators and storyboard artists and directors that came up through the drudge work of drawing vfx by hand 40 years ago. By drawing a lot they learned. Their craft got better as they practiced it. He said his issue with cgi wasn't CGI BAD MKAY. He said his issue with cgi is that it results in people not learning how to draw. That's my issue with AI inbetweens. Ask anyone who's had to crank out these things by hand. You can bullshit and call it tracing but you really are practicing a set of skills that makes you a better animator. Take that away and you have yet another entry level job that's gone, and the skills it would have traditionally imparted to the next generation don't get passed down.
>>287707744Too bad the entire world is turning into one big shitpost
>>287700334Are you going to tell me they're not?
>>287698669nowithout that work there wouldnt be the next generation of skilled human animatorsidiots willingly walking into their own doom
>>287709954>Ask anyone who's had to crank out these things by handThat's me. I feel a sense of reward and accomplishment from the two short movies I animated but holy fuck I would love an AI assistant for tweens. The problem right now is the current crop of AI can't get it quite right and it's not clear if they ever will, because a lot of what makes animation look great is rooted in how we understand the world (it looks right). AI don't have an understanding of the world, they can only create things slightly outside the scope of the training data.
>>287698669I don't get it. Which are the key frames here and which did the AI do?
>>287705340It's very noticeable though?
Llm's will never work and have been repeatedly proven to be so in every feasible use case, and the nature of their design places a hard mathematical limit on them ever getting better. There's a reason the same scammers hawking it are the same people who were hawking NFT's five years ago, and who were hawking Crypto 5 years before that.
i wouldn't care if I couldn't tell
>>287698669Shouldn't have mentioned this was AI and see if people could tell.
>>287710461You really think someone couldn't tell? How often do you see a guy awkwardly hiding his hand behind his back like he's performing a magic trick when a women embraces him?
It's hilarious that they are now trying to sell fucking AutoMotionPlus under a new name by calling it "AI". It won't make it any less terrible.
>>287710488Isn't it only supposed to be for the in between frames though?
>>287710120This. People aren't complaining about animators being replaced, they're complaining they have to take a quality hit. If the quality was the same people would have no problem.
>>287698669They already use it for in-between frames.
>>287698669>are you OK with AIYes
>>287701144That's one of the first things modern AI was used to do. And probably still their main use to this day.
>>287698669>everyone agrees it's soul crushing workHow do you think soul gets into anime?
>>287698669>are you OK with AI being used to inbetween keyframes in anime?only americans and euros complain about ai, this shit will be everywhere in 5 years or less deal with it
>>287710865And fuck the Japanese that don't deserve this cancer. Kill yourself, you retarded twitter screencap posting faggot.
>>287710839No they don't.
>>287711461Everyone complains about ai. This shit will die in 5 years or less. Deal with it.
>>287708455now you're starting to understand
>>287710839I don't really see it
