Didn't this show kind of sabotage it's own themes in that Toichiro fight? Toichiro and the other espers have been going on and on about their might is right philosophy and about how they ought to rule the world thanks to their godly ubermensch power, and Mob says that everybody is important and brings different things to the table and nobody should get special treatment and blah blah blah.Only for the final fight with Toichiro to have every other character in the series - esper and non - to be utterly irrelevant and Mob just crushes him with nothing more than sheer power. In essence not even debunking Toichiro's ideology but instead just showing that Mob is a superior Ubermensch to Toichiro and therefore gets to decide what is right himself.Wouldn't it have been more thematically prudent for other, weaker characters (hopefully non-espers) to be the edge Mob has and the reason he wins? Justifying his worldview, rather than having him win for no reason other than just being stronger, doing nothing to challenge any of the esper-supremacists but almost proving them correct post hoc (normies were utterly useless and powerless and needed an esper to save them)?
no, Mob and Toichiro weren't fighting the same moral battle. Toichiro's arc was a side story about being a absent, workaholic father that needed to lose his job to learn that he valued his family. meanwhile Mob was learning about how to set healthy boundaries. the might is right theme had already been beaten to death by this point in the story.
>>287711442Mob rejects the corporate dogma of "You should find what you are best at and ruthlessly exploit it for wealth and power, doing so is the reason you were born with that talent and because you were born with it is your right to do so"It's not a coincidence that Mob's mentor is a confidence man that got burnt out screwing people over as an insurance salesman and decided instead to be a quack psychic that prioritizes relieving people's anxieties and satisfying their superstitions rather than telling them they should have read the contract better and there's nothing he can do and bringing in way more money
>>287711442Yes, Mob defeated the big bad guy who uses supernatural esper abilities with his own supernatural esper abilities. However it was his son wanting to repair his broken family that reformed him not to do bad anymore. If it weren't for that no-fighting-ability called Love, he would have continued to do evil shit even after being send to prison(which he could have escaped from anytime)Mob never says super fighting esper abilities can't solve super fighting esper fights, he says that there are more important things in life than doing just that.
