>>287729849In fairness Holy Land gets better as it goes along and honestly Yuu had to work harder for his new moves, usually by befriending specific trainers like the wrestler or the boxing club guy. Also for guys who did public fighting tended to be very dangerous and Yuu had to find tricky ways to beat them, whereas in this series you can be a boxer but if you don't have "killer instinct" your punches just arbitrarily don't work. That being said the latest stretch with the multiple enemies gimmick and much more Miu focus is pretty nice.

Is the point that he should do anything to win? He already does, if you just cheat like she did you'd just get DQed. Is the point that he should care more about violence than winning? A lot of her tricks have more to do with winning than violence though. The issue is that something that maximises your chance of winning a fight might very well be something that's not the most violent option. And Setsuna wins all the time so the story doesn't reckon with this contradiction.
