I didn't care much about the dragon fight scene, but the whole part before it was just awesome. When they were thinking of the spell together, when they were running to draw all those seals, just perfect. Made it so fun and endearing to watch, perfectly captured the feeling from the manga and even elevated it at times. I'd say the best episode so far. The adaptation is exceeding my expectations so far, hope they keep on going.

On a purely technical level, I thoroughly enjoy this episode. It was beautifully animated, and the storyboard was great as well. The way they defeating the dragon was clever, it capitalized in what makes the magic unique and it was also entertaining to watch. That said, I still don't care about any of these characters or the story. We are 5 episodes in, and I don't think the show has ever bothered to even attempt to delve into any of them in a meaningful way. Which in a way makes sense, because so far the story has been busy establishing the setting, which I also don't think is particularly interesting.

Despite knowing it would happen, this bit at the end where the nice music is playing and then they suddenly cut to him really caught me off guard. If this is how well they're handling scary/intense Quifrey this early on then I have full faith in their ability to adapt the more serious stuff, especially the festival arc.
