New episode out soon
>>287740427You confused subject and name. Try again!
>>287740427>fucking up the OP this badly
>>287740427In my defense, my post box looks like this, and I haven't made an OP with a subject name in ages. But yes, I fucked up
>>287740427dumber than Nao
>>287740744What's your excuse for calling the show Liar's Game instead of LIAR GAME?
>>287740427I feel like her aspect ratio is somehow off. But just her.
>>287741797That's pure retardation from my end>>287741985imo the whole show looks like it should be 4:3, but maybe it's me
>>287741985She's had a long day
this whole episode was just setup reee
Huh? It's possible to lie in the LIAR GAME
This bitch is so fucking dumb lmao
I've got 500 fake dollars on this on animebets, you manga readers better be right about it getting better.
>>287742727Do you really think someone who's read Liar Game would lie to you?
>>287742727Kill yourself
Nao is so fucking dumb holy shit. I think even the average harem mc is smarter than this dumbass
>>287742821>you're not allowed to have fun with a silly online game with no actual money involved Nah I think it will make for great shitposting material throughout the year.
So many brave transwomen among the participants
>>287743059Who cares about the others? Their actions don't matter in this plan, in theory. In practice you have to consider other people using a similar method and the possibility of infinite stalemates.
Cute
>>287743059bro your math...
>>287742010>imo the whole show looks like it should be 4:3, but maybe it's me
I see some problems with his plan.1. There is no guarantee that whoever of his team of eight wins will agree to paying out to the other seven rather than keep all the winnings.2. If another team of eight decides to do the same strategy, the votes can get hung indefiniteiy if the unaffiliated voters all get voted out. Imagine MC's team is eight red pins, second team is eight green pins, remaining six are unaffiliated white pins.First round 4 R + 4 G + 4W in one camp, 4 R + 4 G + 2 W in other -> first camp eliminated.Second round 2 R + 2 G + 4 W in one camp, 2 R + 2 G + 0 W in other -> first camp eliminated.Third round 1 R + 1 G in first camp, 1 R + 1 G in second camp -> deadlock. The deadlock will persist even when revoting since neither team can afford to vote 2-0, since that would lead to them being eliminated if the other team sticks to 1-1.Also I can't be bothered to work out what will happpen if one person is part of both teams.
The show finally getting good. When will she start selling herself for money.
>>287743739Stop it. Protect her at all cost.
>>287743739Girl, why's your pinky bigger than your thumb?
>>287743631Whoops, second round should've been 2 W in the first camp, not 4 W, but that doesn't affect the rest since they're all getting eliminated anyway.
>>287743768Protecting her from organ harvesting by becoming one of her regulars!
>>287743768She's making it pretty hard.
>>287743631
>>2877430592.1B prize-1.05B to drop out=1.05B-(7*100M) to pay off everyone else's buy-in=350M (Winner doesn't have to pay back theirs)350/8=43.75M left over for everyone
Number 18 a cute
>>287740427>>287742691>>287743270>>287743739>>287743907Is this the ugliest show of the season?
>>287744030The visuals are subpar but I quite like the VA work for Nao and Akiyama.
>>287744030No.
>>287744030I read the manga a while ago and this adaptation is pretty mah but I'm only watching it for my wife.
This anime looks way too fucking cheap for the legacy it has. And how is this Madhouse too?
I hope Fukunaga isn't bald for round 3. Looked gross. Traps are hot, but only if they're cute and feminine
>>287744475Madhouse is notoriously inconsistent despite its high peaks.
idk if the dates line up for it to be true, but I've started to think that Akiyama feels like the Akagi stand-in for an Akagi x Reader fanfic
>>287744532She's cute and feminine even when bald.
Anyone mind if I create a new thread with a proper subject this time?
>>287744572Nah, OP's punishment is to have his shame propped up for a few hours for everyone to see. The thread shows up when typing Liar in the search bar anyways, that's all that really matters.
>>287744647anon-chamaalso it looks like someone made a thread anyway
>>287744622>The thread shows up when typing Liar in the search bar anywaysIt does not.
>>287744676It does for me, use a better search bar.
>>287744670>LAIR
>>287744559no
>>287740427Why the long face?
>>287744670My fucking sides. Nao must have made both these threads.
>one retard can't put the name in the subject>misspells it to boot>other retard makes a second thread>also misspells itI guess we know who won't be winning the RAIA GEMU
>>287743631The second is not a problem with the plan, but rather the game design. The tie-breaking mechanism does not account for collusion, despite collusion being a predictable and permitted strategy. For a potential third rod in the axles, there is a possibility that two people win. The tie-breaking mechanism does account for this, and it will result in both players winning „1B. In this case, the only way someone could repay their team members is if they do not drop out. And that's exactly what I predict will happen.
>>287745317>The second is not a problem with the plan, but rather the game design.Right, I mean "problem" in the sense the plan may not go as smoothly as he described it to.
So when is it getting good? Because it wasn't this week.
>>287745506Well, it is still a kind of win. The 4 players in a deadlock would get to live in a hotel for the price of having to vote twice a day.As soon as someone dies of old age, the game can progress.
Sure was a lot of trannies there.
>>287745197It's minority rule, anon. If the majority can't find the thread then we win.
>>287745708Oh shit
>>287745695Putting the minority in minority rule.
>>287742512Every episode is a setup until Akiyama unleashes his keikaku load.
My favourite part of every episode is when Nao starts losing her mind five minutes into the game.>AIIIIIIEEEEEEEEE AKIYAMA-SAN TASUKETE!!!!I don't think I'll ever get bored of it.
>>287746089At least she's a idiot who knows she's an idiot.
>>287746175>*anFuck me.
In the live action did the actress portray her intelligence levels well?
>>287746275She's alright. The live action is generally very entertaining in a cheesy way.
>>287746504>the Bollywood stares
This is so bad it becomes good
>>287746504>The time of Nao's execution... got changed.
>>287746504>The time of Rukia's execution... got changed!

>>287747611Literally called Liar Game.>>287747571You spoiled it with that answer. So it's Akiyama.
>>287743768i must bully her exclusively

>>287747515>>287747611i havent been following manga or threads much but even without them i know how japanese gender identification works. ambiguously
>>287746912Author wrote a mahjong manga but unlike Liar Game I really don't think it's good
>>287745708Next week I shall make a thread with no subject, no name and no comment. The image won't even be related to the series.
>>287748317
>>287748317I don't know who you are, but I will find you.

>>287747515This dude has to be X, and he will break the team with some fuckery (women betray)
I like that she didn't even try to excuse her retardation here
Well, /a/?
lol
>>287744030i wish they had kept the extremely huge black spots under akiyama's eyes from the manga
>>287742691How could this happen?
>>287742691>>287751957she's a cutie. doesn't it just make you want to protect her?

>family suicideHoly shit, old man
I wanna to smack her not in a mean way but in like a dad disciplining his daughter way for her risky behavior
>>287751963I want to buy her and be a kind slaveowner who lets her see her father!
>I'm putting together a team
I love Nao so much, I jerked off to her honesty
They're so going to be betrayed
>>287744347Her VA has a talent for the earnest retard role
>6 women>1 senior>1 working age maleThe Dream Team
>>287752162Springtime has come for the old man.
I don't think Nao is dumb. She just lacks a theory of mind or whatever. Like she can't envision people doings things that she herself wouldn't do, hence why she keeps getting tricked. She's got pretty decent mental math skills and the capacity to understand Akiyama's plan. Not retarded, just autistic.
>>287752279She's exactly like her name, honest and straightforward. So she thinks other people are like that too.
The characters' faces look different in this episode, but I can't say why.
>>287745581The organizers would just BTFO them in some way. You just know it.>>287747611One of the women could've disguised themselves as a young man. One of the guys could also be a master of disguise like Akiyama.>>287749476So, since everyone else was baited with an easy victory, I wonder if she was invited just to bait sensei and was just lucky she got Akiyama to win for her.
>>287752038He looks Korean somehow.
>>287743739Cute as always
>>287752735I thought he'd be blonde from the manga. Like an Agent Smith type look.
>>287752735Bowl cut has that effect
>>287752162best girl is in this picture
>>287752038Is this guy going to be Akiyama's rival?
>>287752162I dig the short girl.
Number of pages and chapters adapted from the Liar Game manga for each episode:>Episode 1: 46+30 = 76 (Chapters 1-2)>Episode 2: 20+17+21 = 58 (Chapters 3-5)>Episode 3: 31+40 = 71 (Chapters 6-7)>Episode 4: 29+19+19 = 67 (Chapters 8-10)This averages to 68 pages per episode (min. 58, max. 76), and 2 or 3 chapters per episode. Also, the first 3 episodes covered exactly the first volume.Prediction for the coming episodes:>Episode 5: 19, 17, 19, 18 = 73 (Chapters 11-14)>Episode 6: 19, 18, 25 = 62 (Chapters 15-17)Episode 6 would be the end of the second volume and the second game, and this would follow the "3 episodes per volume" pattern above, and each of these two episode covers an amount of pages within the established range. But chapter 13 ends on a good cliffhanger, and there hasn't been an episode that covered 4 chapters yet, so it might be that the division would be 11-13, 14-15, 16-17.
>>287752880I think they nerfed her boobs. Or maybe they were that size when she debuted
>>287752924They're kinda inconsistent desu
the twist for this one sure has aged interestingly in the modern age
>>287744362New director each episode was the mandate
>>287752899She seems like a liar when she complained about being to weak to lug around 100mil yen
>>287752105>>287752162What are they, some kind of Suicide Squad?
>>287752140Yes, she's a bit frustrating in a good way.
Oh wait, but what if X gave the check to someone to fake out?
>>287753880X aint gon give it to ya
i liked the episode but was hoping for more frustratingly dumb woman rage moments
>>287753880What if MaleMC was the one who took it in exchange for taking the woman's place?
>>287740744i request future threads be named Lair Game
>long face>not smart >easily set off>prone to running Is she a horse?
>>287754072Lair's Game
I (OP of the other thread) just want to say that, while I did fuck up the name in the OP, I got it right in the body of the post. So it shows up when you look for it
>>287754735OP of this one, It shows up on search for me, but I think it's because of 4chanX's search, I still feel it's funny how we both fucked up the name
>>287754800if future threads aren't mis named you're not doing it right
>>287754735>>287754800now do it again next week so we can play along with the show
>>287751900Her face here looks way longer than other scenes, I get it when they need to exaggerate certain scenes with her facial expression but this one shes just sitting there and talking and listening.
Itās been a long time since Iāve checked out Liar Game, who knew it would get an anime years later. I have to say though, the anime fucked up portraying the gothic tone/art style from the manga (or maybe itās changed in later chapters, I didnāt finish it), the OP sort of captures it in certain parts.
How does this compare to Usogui? Also any recommendations like these two? Mindgame stuff is pretty enjoyable
Make sure to name next week's thread Layer Game
>>287755733Far more grounded than Usogui. The latter is more the mindgame equivalent of wizard battles while in Liar's Game it's usually stuff you can follow along and make reasonable calls on. On the other hand I'd say the characters and presentation (and really everything outside of the games themselves) are a lot weaker. It's been a while since I read either, admittedly, so take this with a grain of salt.
>>287751963Shut up Akiyama
>>287743774Because I kept sucking on it
Love the anime-onlies coming up with theories >>287743631Just gonna make the twists more shocking.
>>287745538Expect something big next week >>287752903Also wait until the keikaku gets explained, because that's the main meat of these kinds of shows.
liked episode 4 but it needed more retardation
Having read the manga I remember who X is, but having read it so long ago I don't remember much of anything else about the game, so now I'm sitting in this half spoiled state.
>>287752119How though
>>287752279Well yeah considering Nao becomes quite competent I wouldn't say she's dumb but she definitely acts extra retarded in the first few games.
>>287757165It will be a catch 22
>>287754735>>287754800you won the minority retard rule game
The GM fucking lied, the office could totally fix the game. Not that it would make sense. They'd still be running a loss.
For me, "dumb" doesn't just mean "ignorant and incapable of deduction", but also includes a refusal to learn or admit being wrong.Nao does not satisfy that, because she DOES learn, so I wouldn't consider her dumb.
>>287740427What's with the long face
>>287757531if she doesnt change then she isnt learning
>how did you get in?>well it turns out there was another bitch who was just as retarded as you
>>287757717>the series is actually about him building a harem of stupid women
Is this good?
>>287757974Yes.
>>287757974its entertaining
>>287757974As long as you don't take it seriously.
>>287757974if you're into mindgames and puzzles, then yeah. Plus the occasional epic "keikaku doori" moments
>there's BILLIONS in play>b-but we have to make sure that the meanie guy doesnt get in our team!!!do they ever resort to violence?
man I can see this from a mile how itll turn out LMAOthe old guy was le mister le X!!!!!
I didn't watch this, but the OP song is very good.
>>287758642Violence isn't allowed.
>>287758659yeah I mean when the game is over and the player winning from your 8 doesnt want to pay out what do you do? dogeza like a faggot or threaten absolute violence?this shit writing is so bad
>>287758670>seethes overheadcanoned events that didn't happen
>>287758670I assume the LG administration wouldn't let you just beat up/kill someone right after the game. They're probably going to give a ride home to whoever. As for the current game, iirc, these guys signed a contract so they'd have to share the payment. Probably wouldn't work in real life but whatever it's fiction. Anyway the issue isn't about violence because violence can never be a huge factor in these games, although it happens sometimes.
>>287751844My great dream is to become the Liar King.
>>287758670This isn't a Korean show.
>>287758679after the first game it's clear that these faggots aren't gonna use violence even if it means their life is over due to debt, no need to wait for it NOT HAPPENING, we already know it's not gonna happen because nippon is respectfur
>>287757717Or he could've been LYING
>AAAAIIIIIIIIEEEEE WHY IS THE LIAR GAME NOT A FIGHTING GAME
>>287759047Actually there are a few skirmishes here and there but obviously you're not going to punch your way out of a giant organization that can throw billions of yen around lmao.
>>287759103this but unironicallyWHY ISNT LIAR GAME USED TO PUT FOOD ON THE TABLE???????

It would have been more fun to speculate about this episode if the manga readers hadn't spoiled the twist all over last episode's thread.
>>287760381le twist is I was le actually le bad one all le along I was le one who le scammed le poor le girl?
>>287760428Are you French?

>>287752162I hope nobody betrays>>287760381This is the risk you take entering any thread for an adaptation
>>287761043>I hope nobody betraysLOL
Honestly it was kinda bullshit how Akiyama defeated him. I hope the anime changes some things to make it better actually.
we lost
What happens in case of unanimity?
>>287762899Chandelierbros⦠not like this

>>287763045The house wins
Let's create a bingo
>>287740427this whole anime feels like a 2010 anime that a time traveller transported in current times
>>287765227I'm not familiar with the manga, so I'll just suggest things based on these 4 episodes + generic gambling manga/anime tropes>Side character going "He's insane!/He's completely lost it">Nao breaking down because she thinks she's gonna lose>Exaggerated face when a character wins/loses>Akiyama smirking before revealing the enemy fell into his trap>That thing where a character/the narrator says one word and there's a solid 5-10 pages/2-3 minutes explaining it, then showing how it relates to the situation at hand>That thing where a character/the narrator explains a random historical event for 3-8 pages/1-2 minutes before showing the parallels between this event and the situation at hand for another 3-8 pages/1-2 minutes>Enemy laughing internally about how they're gonna win (they lose soon after)>Nao going "Ahhhh :D"
>>287765878it was, of course, all going according to keikakutl note: keikaku means plan
They should allow violence in the game but only against Nao (she would like it)
This episode redeemed the obvious ending to the first game where Akiyama-san impersonated the guy from the Liar Game office. We're back in business.
>>287766075Well, she is a masochist: https://streamable.com/jq2yi9

>>287767092Why is JP acting so bad?
>>287765878>>That thing where a character/the narrator says one word and there's a solid 5-10 pages/2-3 minutes explaining it, then showing how it relates to the situation at hand>>That thing where a character/the narrator explains a random historical event for 3-8 pages/1-2 minutes before showing the parallels between this event and the situation at hand for another 3-8 pages/1-2 minutesI was gonna say that sounds a lot like JoJo but then I remembered JoJo has probably some level of influence over the genre between that one Part 3 fight and a lot of Part 2.
>>287767172Araki's writing style involves a lot of "How do I weave this piece of trivia I recently learned of into the story?" which leads into him using these a lot, but given how popular JoJo is, I wouldn't be surprised if some authors started doing it because of him. As for specific examples, there's "SYNESTHESIA" in Usogui, and I'm pretty sure there are at least like three mentions of samurai battles in Akagi
>>287767154They still think they're acing on stage where people need to use binoculars to see facial expressions. No one bothered telling them the camera is right next to their face. Please understand.
