Did anyone remenber this manga? I really liked it, and i thiks that riichi made a good job with da art style!

He should have kept doing drugs. As soon as he got sober the art got boring and he forgot that the manga is about two people destined to have sex.

I remember reading some rumor about how around the time Ueshiba's art style started losing its esoteric, overly detailed style, was about the same time psychedelics started getting harder to get a hold of in Japan. I haven't bothered to check the timeline of things, but if you compare his earlier works with his later chapters of MGX, I can see how that argument may hold true.

I think everyone can agree the series was good up until the idol arc. I think it would have been a cult classic had Ueshiba been allowed to do whatever he wanted with the story, supplied with all the psychedelics he needed, and without any shame.

Looks like he retired after Ookumo-chan Flashback, so it doesn't look like we'll ever get any kind of satisfying resolution via a spiritual successor at least.

>started back in 2006

I was there when the first chapter dropped. I was but a wee lad. Good times.

Was there anything said about retiring, or is it just assumed since there hasn't been anything new?

I liked it. Very cute. Ending was a little disappointing but still heartwarming.

Stop peddling urban myths. He just got older and had to change his drawing style accordingly.

every romcom/echi/any other genre manga ever

The latter. I think he has a Twitter.

I was less disappointed by them not kissing at the end than I was from there not being any actual mystery surrounding Urabe. Relationships became the subject of mystery, and I hate that kind of metaphorical bullshit.

I do. I liked it alot but I'm less kind to it now that I read Discommunication (his debut manga) and realize how much he lifted from that.
Riichi's art style is very sharp, regardless, even if he did degrade a bit over the course of MGX. Possibly from a lack of drugs, but I'm not really going to put that much credence in rumours. Could be he was just getting burnt out.

It's one of my favorites. There's just a certain tension to it that I love.

I thought I heard he became a Christian and decided he wanted to end this. Is this one of those things people make up a bunch of shit about?

Everything's true. My source? It was revealed to me within the dream world.

Likely. Never seen any evidnence to back it up and I've only ever seen it repeated here.
