I'm halfway through episode 2 of season 2 and I'm falling asleep

I vaguely remember liking the first season but it's been years since then and whatever connection I had with any of these characters has evaporated, and the story seems to be jumping around between time periods without much indication of when something is happening, so I'm finding it very very hard to give a shit about anything.

The fights with Shin and Noi against the group of cross-eyeds was kind of cool for a bit but when these characters are getting stabbed through the heart and are still walking around for 20 minutes and fighting and in good enough shape to get healed later it makes it hard to take any threat seriously.

I'm just not finding anything to latch onto. Does this season find a groove or is it all gonna be like this?

maybe because Kaiman will not appear for now.In this part of the manga, he doesn't appear for a long time unless the anime does its own adaptation.

This is the issue with taking 6 years to release a new season. Unless someone's dedicated they may have forgotten everything from the previous season. Even reading a manga over a long period of time I tend to maybe not forget, but have the beginning not as fresh in my mind, but at least there's stuff constantly coming out and not just a new batch of chapters after a decade.

feels good man, having read through it multiple times, I can just enjoy the anime trying it's own schtick and adapting what it can do, with music, animation, and voice acting to really make some scenes make more sense

I mean I might have more of an emotional connection to the characters if the first season were fresh in my mind but I skimmed through episode 3 and besides being generally confused (do they explain the two nikaidos?) I just can't find anything to care about. So much shit is constantly happening and yet it feels like there's nothing happening.

All the most charismatic elements of the story are from early on and they just get more and more out of focus as the series goes, leaving you with nothing but ~~chidaruma and hole~~ to carry 99% of the week to week intrigue
