When do you think MHA started getting bad?
Personally it was after the U.A. Sports Festival when it started to show cracks
3 of Deku's quirks did the exact same thing
Stars & Stripes arc was completely unnecessary
The ending was so dogshit that there had to bean extra chapter and that was even WORSE than the first ending

all weekly shonen slop is bad. If it was good it wouldn't be published in a weekly shonen magazine
>>
>>287753043
right after all might's cancer gets revealed it kind of meanders around trying to find a new plot but just never captures the same level of hype or interest for me- i think they go to boarding school or whatever after that and its like, meh- all might probably should have died
>>
>Please care about MHA

the class a versus b arc where Deku starts to get more powers
>>
>>287753100
Yeah I would put it there too, it was very shoe horned in there since it literally came out of nowhere
>>
>>287753043
>When do you think MHA started getting bad?
Never because it was a very steady stream of cutr superheroes doing cute superhero things and that's all I needed to stay invested.
>>
>>287753100
That was when I stopped watching the show. Not because of O MY BLACKED WHIP specifically but I just lost interest in the story.
>>
>>287753081
All Might should've died standing in Kamino Ward, and then become the first vestige to speak to Deku. It would've been a better transition into the multiple quirks plot point than blackwhip manifesting itself during a training exercise. That should've presented itself in some dire situation with All Might telling saying some heroic bullshit to him as a callback to when he first used One For All.
>>287753043
I lost interest entirely during the Paranormal Liberation War arc. I think it's also because I just grew out of the shounen genre in general around that time.

Yakuza arc epitomizes most of his writing limitations to me but the liberation army arc was when I knew for sure he was a hack

When we had to suffer through the Todoroki family drama
That was really very badly executed, the weight of focus were mismanaged, and dragged down both the enjoyment and pacing.

The readers didn't come away appreciating how Todoroki was able to rise above his family baggage, instead we remember what a shit show of a dysfunctional family it was - Hori just kept hammering that point over and over even after it outstayed its welcome.

yeah, its not like shoto came out of it better and was only a reminder of how shitty his dad was to where endevor drove his son insane, the rest of his children to resent him, to make his wife insane and attack her child and to end up in an asylum essentially
he got literally nothing out of it except EVEN MORE resentment for his dad
>>
>>287753574
>>287753616
also he could never disassociate from his dad due to him being a top 5 hero at the time and him always standing with his other siblings too

this meme has never worked for manga series that sold over 100 million volumes, bro
>>
>>287753043
Even with all of it's flaws MHA was still a perfectly serviceable series up until Dabi's Dance. Everything went downhill immediately afterwards and it never recovered.

>When do you think MHA started getting bad?
Chapter 1, page 1, panel 1. It's tough to think of a concept inherently less appealing than capeshit with the most stereotypically wimpy beta-male manga protagonist. Literally the worst of all worlds when it comes to comics, both east and west.
In hindsight, it's extra frustrating that this drivel was taking off in WSJ at the same time that Gamma (the superior capeshit manga) was getting axed in SQ.

Stripes development was fine, the problem was her fight...and her dumb quirk
>>
>>287753043
When Hori didn’t kill off All Might in Kamino. Hori showed his true hackery and cowardice that he would never make a lasting impact on this series.

The OH MY SEVEN QUIRKS moment for sure. I remember how everyone was disappointed - this board, Twitter, reddit, even some people irl. Nobody liked it.
>>
I don't know what is considered "bad" in the fanbase but I thought the first 50 chapters were pretty good and then ditched it towards the end of the yakuza arc where it just seemed to be getting messy and badly written/paced.

Chapter 1
>>
>>287753043
After Kamino. All Might was basically carrying the manga on his back and his retirement sunk the manga, even if it was inevitable. After that you get the fucking shitty Yakuza arc and from then on there's really only a couple mini-arcs that are worth shit.
Though it wasn't unrecoverable until 7 quirks.

Deku was just way more interesting when he couldn't attack without hurting himself. I started to lose interest when he was training with the old guy. After the end of the overhaul arc I just lost complete interest and haven't watched it since.

I love how the chapter was ranked first in Jump and it made /a/ seethe relentlessly also virtually nothing that people said would happen came about so the only people asspained about it were Batman and Rock Lee niggas

>When do you think MHA started getting bad?
It didn't and the fact that unlike Naruto and Bleach that theres not a consensus as to where it peaked really frustrates people here because a lot of people love the later arcs over the early ones too.
>>
>>287758382
Peter Parker or Steve Rogers weren't spineless betas compared to Deku, and they didn't spend most of their lives moping about wanting to be a superhero while doing jack-shit to improve themselves.
>>
>>287753043
The Villain Academia arc really showed just how bland the Class Heroes are. It was at that point I fully stopped giving a shit about any of them.
>>
>>287753043
The premise is wrong. OFA shouldn't be inheritable, Deku should have been quirkless and yet still get into the school due to 100%-retired All Might sponsors him after witnessing his bravery. Story should have been about him using his otakuism to counter quirks, and initally being bullied and buried for being quirkless but one by one he gains the respect of the class, the school, and becomes a decent hero despite everything.

and maybe 40% more ecchi.

No? In fact every in the thread is saying it was never good which mean the opinions here are worthless

Read more cape stories, this fails at the very fundamentals of super heroes.

animefag here but like ... immediately? these characters are kids and all i get that but the way fans act out these characters is BARELY an exaggeration. theyre little caricatures walking around and yelling at eachother. idk
