It's hard for me to like "weak" characters. Even if it isn't a battle orientated anime, I still think about how weak the characters are and it is hard to respect or take them seriously. With things like romcoms I just can't help but think of how characters like Goku could easily beat up the protagonist and steal his girlfriend. It's the same with Slice Of Life or other shonen where the characters are below planetary level.
