What are some are some of your female characters in manga and anime /a/?Riza is one of my favorite characters in FMA, in some aspects due to her duality. She is firm but empathetic, stern but understanding, cold but kind, a mass killer, yet righteous. In a magic-based world, she gets by with firearms, and her tenacity to right her wrongs makes her compelling to me.

One of the scenes that made me really enjoy her character is how she silently cares for others like when Edward first had his conflict with scar and she was the only to cover him. She's motherly with her cat children, but in this weirdly soft and detached, scolding way. She puts up her guard around most people, including the cats, but lets herself vent and be bratty around her bat dad, and is clearly more at ease around him than other people she meets. She's extremely terrified about slowly dying, but tries to carry herself with this dignity that is half real, half faking it, and is surprisingly quick to give up on herself.She comes off as both very fragile and strong at the same time. Good comic, and a well-rounded personality. I was really struck by the chapter she almost drowns.

i'm quite fond of Kino. Her strict moral code, the fact that she is a potent gunslinger without the attitude or her anime/LN turning into a john wick shitfest was interesting to me - it is very much FAFO with Kino but she always starts with the carrot before the stick. She's a determined yet thoughtful free spirit, wise beyond her years living in disconnected and insular world (which if you look at a canonical map is just Ireland btw, the jokes write themselves) and she's just great. Hermes also gets a mention for being a rare example of a sentient talking normally inanimate object that isnt fucking annoying, KITT he is not.

There's just a great sense of humanity to her character that feels very realistic. She isn't perfect and often can be somewhat unpleasant or pretentious, but to me she's definitely extremely likeable and an easy favorite.
