I'm surprised how many of you are seething about Minato and/or Koyun's woman moment here.The next episode will clear some things up and show that Koyun was in the wrong. Although if you guys are freaking out over this you're not ready for the NTR later on.I think this is overall a pretty good shoujo, especially since it was a web manga, but the introspection gets very hamfisted in the latter half so I started speedreading the chapters when the characters go on for pages about the same thoughts/hangups they've had for 50+ chapters already. After how the last episode ended, this one was an absolute disappointment.Turns out this mangaka is actually just bad at writing characters. I thought she just didn't try too hard in Seihantai because it was a lighthearted comedy, but here it became obvious she just isn't that skilled. The last episode felt like it finally set up a conflict arising from the clash of personalities: before this episode they were not getting along because he was a sociopath getting on her nerves with his weird antics, and him bringing up Igarashi just made things finally explode. But now it turned out it was just a nothingburger for the sake of a little drama and them getting closer as a result. Now that she learned that he actually didn't ask Igarashi about their relationship (even though he kinda did, the guy just didn't remember), she just magically stopped getting weirded out and started blushing and getting along with him. But his personality didn't fucking change at all. I get that she was trying to be extra understanding due to feeling guilty (which is another hard-to-believe thing, but whatever), but that still doesn't negate all the awkwardness. It all just felt so artificial. The author is so attached to this idea of "opposites attract" that she just doesn't care to give them believable reasons to get along. They will get along just because they were created as opposites of each other, no matter if there is chemistry between them or not.

Part of why he seems much more unlikable in the anime is because the anime left out the little moments in the manga where you see he's carefully watching Koyun's reactions and it's more obvious that he's aware he's bombing, but still wants to keep trying to befriend her, instead of looking like a tool who doesn't care about her feelings and only wants the sense of accomplishment from getting close to her. If that's all it's about for him, it would have been easier to just cut it out the moment his usual tactics didn't work. Even this early on in the manga it's clear he's afraid of rejection and being left out, and watching someone he wants to befriend give him zero to work with while instantly getting close to Yota makes him lonely. Have you guys never acted awkwardly while trying to befriend someone? Well, probably not, this place is full of misanthropes who would only be able to project their feelings of not wanting anything to do with other people onto Koyun's initial distrust of Minato's motives for why he's even trying to befriend her.
