It literally doesnt matter. 90% of dubs are shit, thats a fact, but whether youre watching sub or dub youre still getting a shitty 2nd hand experience so the answer is "who cares." Any sub elitism from EOPs is performative in nature and should be mocked just as much as dubfags deserve to be mocked for being dubfags.

There are several anime that I enjoy the dub and a few that are just as good as the sub to me. However I realized that only applied to older shows, 2015 at the most recent, and I haven't liked any new dub in years. The only exception in the last decade was panty stocking s2, which tried its hardest to match the 2010 season dub.

I must say, although they aren't consistently on par with the emotions Japanese VAs show, some of it is also very well done. I also like being able to learn new words in my lanaguage for complicated things and ideas. Another factor is that the dubbing industry is very well developed in my country and we have been dubbing shows, outside anime from a very long time. So clearly, the presence of a demanding market helps.

But, as with most other things, some people, do indeed like to not even have a slight inconsistency in their viewing experience and opt for a viewing mode where they only have to follow the audio for narration, where it's clearer in their native language.
