I've been catching up on Yotsuba from the earlier chapters after not reading for over a decade; is it just me or has the writing shifted? The art has changed slightly which is understandable, but it also feels like the manga went from a realistic SOL to deliberate comedy. Ever since the end of the grandma chapters, the expressions have been more cartoonish and over the top. Yotsuba went from being a believable child to a kind of corny comic character. It just seems like the author is no longer writing from a father's perspective and has shifted into being a grandpa.
>>287829505I always envisioned a fitting end to Yotsubato being her waving goodbye to her dad saying "See ya!" as she enters the gates of her grade school for the first time. But time doesn't pass and Japanese can't write endings.
>>287829612it should've ended with the backpack chapter
>>287829719The one where she's on a camping trip and it ends with her doing a sort-of fourth wall break smiling towards the reader and saying "What do you want to do today?" would have been a solid ending. Not that I'm unhappy it's continued.
>>287829612i think this is going to be the ending but azuma wants to tell a little bit more about yotsuba's origin and the koiwai family. also we need more of certain teacher
>>287832179Wasn't it revealed that she was adopted from a warzone while koiwai was a journalist? Or was that just a fan theory
>>287829612>I always envisioned a fitting end to Yotsubato being her waving goodbye to her dad saying "See ya!">I must go, my planet needs me
>>287829612this
1 fucking chapter last year, azuma does not give a fuck no more
