>>287830814>>287830839I feel like this murder was far too brutal for what samurai are known for. Cutting off heads are expected for a samurai but removing hearts is so unusual that I can not recall any historical record of a samurai doing this, even in the Sengoku Period.
>>287831090
>>287831112And that should be it, hope I didn't skip a page
>>287830980>>287830999I have to say I am a little disappointed. If the author wanted to introduce a ghost swordsman, I expected at least someone from the four legendary Hitokiri (assassins) aka manslayers of the Bakumatsu period. For example, Kenshin Himura from Ruroni Kenshin was loosely based on a real life Hitokiri, Kawakami Gensai. I just don't see how this swordsman whose childhood friend was murdered qualifies him to be part of the cast. After all, if we are talking about being burthurt or grudges, Sasaki Kojiro who was anti-climatically killed by Miyamoto Musashi, would definitely refuse to pass on to the afterlife due to his humiliation by Musashi.
>>287831096Maybe for a Samurai, but not for Ashigaru.
>>287830384According to Yayoi, the samurai graduate doesn't have any special curses, but he's so physically strong that even under the sergeant's weakening curse he could still match the transitional spirit (aka Taira no Masakado in his graduate form)in strength, who, as a reminder, can do this with a punch
I'm happy we're finally getting this mystery dude. He's pretty cool.
>>287831242I'm pretty sure such ghosts were already exorcised.
>>287831134Thank you for posting. Almost missed it.
>>287831056>>287831072>>287831090>>287831112The fuck is this guy's problem. Is this his way of "testing" Yayoi to see if she is still "worthy" to use him or something?
>>287830814While the samurai graduate likely would attack anyone, I think he would be particularly eager to attack Bleached head if he saw what the guy does to his victims
>>287834573Yayoi says he attacks anyone within reach, and the guy's backstory is him believing that if he gains enough strength he can create peace for everyone, and he is continuing to do so since he believed the tragedies in his life is because he isn't strong enough, and he had been honing his skills even while sealed to injure Yayoi even through the katashiro
>>287834661So he's just a different type of lunatic compared to Bleached Head, got it. He is doing this to "protect everyone", so I'm sure cutting out a nine year old's heart will surely get you to your goal, buddy.
So, the only graduates that don't try to kill Yayoi on sight are, what, Demon Sarge (though you still got to be careful due to the guys around him and his debilitating curses), Transitional Spirit (he seems the safest one since he hasn't tried hurting her or the crew once), Maiden (after no longer being influenced by the evil talisman, of course), and Asura (though...you still gotta do set up for him, since he sees everyone as his Mom)?
>>287834704I mean, he literally was able to strike so fast that he can kill Yayoi even before the katashiro can react to it, so he is getting stronger, it's just that his obsession made the "getting stronger" the goal now rather than the means to an end
>>287835338I hope Tai isn't going to be stingy with his Shinku if this guy is going to high speed cut people as soon as he is released or sealed back up...or, since I saw some people bring this up, maybe Eiko can calm him down like how she was able to be nice to Asura. I won't hold my breath though.
>>287831056Did Yayoi just die here and immediately revive with Taira power?
>>287836233Pretty much. Tai better not get mad at her for using a Shinku to survive this...
>>287836309He would be more mad that she didn't bring the samurai to fight him. In fact, he probably would be pissed after hearing she still has several graduate class spirits that didn't participate
>>287836793lol, right, his waku waku nature...well, it is a good thing she didn't go to retrieve graduate one for the fight since she would just be dead and the story ends.
>>287831242I was really hoping for an army type curse. Like Sergeant's cling ons but more organized. Only for the reveal to be that part two of the curse is that after the army is wiped, the main ghost steps in and is powered up from all the deaths.Instead we just get another beatstick. This could be either dull and redundant or refreshingly simple. Personally, I don't think we need a dude whose ability just seems to be "cut harder".
>>287837780I think the battle with Tai Sui shows that Yayoi doesn't necessarily know the full extent of her graduate's abilities, considering both sergeant and oiran showed new abilities that she didn't know
>>287837780Personally, I had a feeling he wouldn't be the actual Shingen. It would be a bit much to have one of Japan's big three spirits AND one of its more well known Sengoku daimyo. And yeah, he seems to be a simple beatstick, but there are situations where that is all you need...and I have a feeling the three remaining graduates will all have interesting stuff to offset One's simplicity
>>287831056>>287831072>>287831090>>287831112Yayoi's really chill having her heart ripped out even if she said it was fast and painless.
>>287830912He WILL protect us
>>287830814>i once caught a fish THIS big
>>287837986Well she anticipated it and had a fix on hand. It's not like the curses of other ghosts are any less lethal; simple and painless is somewhat of a blessing in that regard.
>>287837966Aren't there only two left? You have Class three and Jizo. I guess Zero counts if you don't consider its debut a full showing of it's ability.>>287835195The first three were born strong, didn't have to do psychopathic grinding to get to where they were. I mean, Sarge and Masakado definitely killed people but didn't continue to after dying. Otherwise the latter wouldn't have been in such a shitty state when Yayoi found him as just a skull sitting on his grave.
>>287831242Language musings, given that Class 1 was referred to as a "Musha"/武者 in Volume 11 extras, in conjunction with his Sengoku-esque silhouette, chances of him being a Bakumatsu-era Hitokiri was honestly pretty low. While "samurai"/侍, "bushi"/武士 and "musha"/武者 are often treated as interchangeable "warrior" terms, in reality each of them have their own nuances. 1. "Samurai"/侍 distinguishes itself as a kind of warrior "class" who serves under a lord, and an idealism of sorts; 2. "Bushi"/武士 is a matter of "profession", armed soldiers who fight on the battlefield by sword, bow or otherwise; 3. "Musha"/武者 concerns the warrior as a "practitioner" of the warrior arts, a bushi who distinguished themself on the battlefield so much as to gaining status or even legendary status.Except in our case, Class 1 was ultimately and effectively ordered to serve as a "Kagemusha"/影武者, a "shadow warrior"/body double while his lord retreats. Legendary strength sure, but no legendary recognition.Either way, the image of the Hitokiri are simply too hitman/assassin-like to count as warrior-like Musha.I'm most curious what kind of name incorporating 武者 did Yayoi bestow upon Class 1, and how our scanlator Kredim will translate it. Until then, Musha can either be translated as "Warrior/Champion/Valiant"
>>287831134I’m confused we’re not getting a chapter in June?
>>287839605No, that's just how Jump SQ numbers their volumes, the next one is in June is called "July Volume (7月号)"
>>287839605>>287839645Every magazine pretends they're in the future for extended sales period
>>287839605You'll know if they skip next month if they skip more than an extra month.
>>287839025Yes, there are two left, but I think Zero, like One, might have gotten stronger in the meantime. He is NOT going quietly.
>>287830229LEEEEEETS GHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
>>287830308soulful page
>>287837780they already have tanks and other stuff anon but there was no speed-based ones
>>287841276Just looking ahead, I'm going to guess that Three is not going to be very strong or fast, but it probably has access to extensive illusions and/or mind tricks, disruption being their key attribute.
>>287841599it is is going to be a ghost attribute.... ghost
>>287841620Maybe a...dark/ghost
i wonder why the three as one spirit is sealed and used in specific
I hope Eiko dies
>>287843510gray hands typed this
>>287843510Come on, she isn't that bad.
Wishing for Eiko's death is a bad idea if she is the one that might possibly talk down Graduate One from his murder boner.
Cursed Yayoi in Tomodachi Life
>>287846092la creatura
>>287841599Wasn't there labeled as especially troublesome? Could make sense if illusions made it so that it was hard to tell if you were successful in resealing it after a fight.
>>287846973I think I recall it saying something along that effect, yeah.
Wanna post this again
>>287848205what can that tongue do...
>>287848256Kill you, probably.
>>287848773Kinky
>>287830814still warm?
>>287850139prob
>>287843421what a cool and spooky Yayoi
>>287841112SSSSSTOOO
>>287848205It's hard to decide which one is hotter
>>287853090depends on the day for me desu
>>287830229Oh nice usually its on the 3rd or 4th
>>287853154Yeah, I was expecting it next week.
The wait for the TL feels longer this time. I know, it has only been a day, I should learn patience.
>>287855413time to learn how to summon spriits
>>287855413learn japanese
>>287855413soon
>>287830229Wait, I know this artist... it's that user who is also obsessed with Kieran from Pokemon
did yayoi had to use a bunrei because she got straight killed even bypassing the substitutes too?
>>287857161She had to use a Shinku to grow a bew heart due to Graduate One's attack. He can attack so fast now that it can just bypass the substitutes. She also notes that he couldn't do this before.
>>287857351*new heart
>>287857351it feels a bit weird knowing yayoi really had her heart destroyed there
>>287857161She used a Shinku she tooked from Tai Sui, those eyeballs that can be used for recoveryThe samurai, with enough speed and precision, inflicted an injury on Yayoi that classified her as dead before the substitute could recognize she was being attacked and transferred the damage, and thus didn't inflict the same damage on the samurai.
>>287857427guess he is going to be an assassin type then
>>287831242We got a rurouni kenshin fan over here lmao
Chappie when?
>>287859794fuck off /csm/ refugee
>>287859959????
>>287859959Brother did you see a guy, once, in /csm/ say something in /csm/ and up and assume every instance of it thereafter came from /csm/?Seems you know a lot more about /csm/ than I do pal.
>>287860259I merely use the index and not the inferior cataloguehttps://desuarchive.org/a/search/text/chappy%20day/type/op/
>>287860537I spelled it chappie though
>>287858805Who would win?
>>287830285oh samurai time finally?
>>287830980did he curse himself?
>>287861734I think just sat there until he died of thirst or something. Seeing as the sword had been filled with the ghosts of the guys he killed all this time yet he himself seemed fine when he was alive, it's possible that all of them were still afraid of the samurai, and that only after his spirit slices off his own head did they have the balls to show themselves
>>287831112Giga dick move
>>287861858i wonder whats his other moves are, seeing how indiscriminate he is based on his hate maybe he summon everyone he killed back in the field and everyone start waging war
>>287861524Are all Japanese kids just assassins?
>>287863633i will let you know yayoi is very pure and a clean lady!
>>287861858And all of them immediately got eaten by him. lmao get rekt idiots
>>287830308It feels like it's been forever since we got a LET'S GHOOOOOOOO- ST page.
>>287864759back to comfy days...
I wish we got some fanart of the loli shikigami master from last chapter
>>287865640same
>>287865640Hopefully someone takes a liking to her to do that.
>>287841620>>287842299Speaking of Pokemon Types, have they shared what Taira's Pokemon Type is? The only ones I've seen so far are:Maiden: Ghost/SteelAsura: Ghost/PsychicSarge: Ghost/PoisonOiran: Ghost/FirePriest: Ghost/FairyBleached Head: Ghost/Dragon
>>287867133Hm, I would say Ghost/Fighting, maybe? Graduate One could also fit Ghost/Fighting though. But that's just my guess, they haven't shared Taira's typing yet.
>>287867133Ground for gravity
>>287867647No curse = no subtyping maybe? Just pure ghost for graduate one.
>>287868131Hm, that's interesting.
>>287843510She'd be a strong ghost, probably strongest out of the cast sans Yayoi.
>>287870606This has me thinking. If Eiko and/or Keitaro die, does the curse attached to them stay on their ghosts? Would it give them any benefits? I'm doubtful since all it does is give them detriments as is at the moment...
>>287871624what a lovely smile
>>287830912This panel is fuckin' sick.
>>287873463Yeah, it looks good.
you think at some point author might bring nobunaga as a ghost
>>287874751Never say never, but I doubt it, personally.
Bump while we wait for tl
>>287874751Perhaps he is one of the replace if the author wants to stick with nobunaga is the demon king whole thing manga loves to do so much. But I highly doubt it.
>>287876510bump
>>287876568I can't see Nobunaga joining the Replaced for one main reason: Nankobo Tenkai, the old man of the Replaced. There is a ongoing theory that Tenkai is really Mitsuhide Akechi under a different alias. If DG goes with that for him, Nobunaga wouldn't work with someone that betrayed him at Honnoji.
>>287876942he will be a new faction boss, but i think its unlikely for him to show up the samurai from this chapter could have been a named one but its not so i believe the author is trying to not overuse of this kind of stuff which is a good thing imo
>>287877263Yeah, it is all too easy to to get caught in the trap of overusing the big historical or mythological figures of your country. That said, we have had Shuten Douji, Seimei, and Masakado as big names being used...and since the Replaced have the whole Night Parade thing as one of their big plans, I wonder if we will get some actual youkai showing up. Or, spirits that act like or embody said Youkai among their ranks.
The new TL is up. Unfortunately, I can't post it right now since I got work in the morning. Sorry. I'll do it when I have time tomorrow if someone else hasn't got to it by then.
New ghost has>White hair>Peerless with a sword>Moves faster than the eye can see>Tears out enemy spines and hearts
Graduate one is going to hit a fucking Judgment Cut End isn't he?
>>287830229LET'S GHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
>>287830308WE ARE SO FUCKING BACK
>>287830308I love how hard Ai tries to be excited.
>>287830518Ghost backstory, wooooo!
>>287830814Well fuck.
>>287831112Asshole.
>>287835456Given how fucking insane he is after losing everything that mattered to him (TWICE), I highly doubt they'll be able to calm him down any time soon. They'll just have to hope Sergeant, Revered Spirit, and Child can hold him back when they recover. Especially since all of these upcoming Graduates are liable to be just as, if not even more hostile and dangerous.
>>287871005Whatever entity the curse is sourced from will probably eat their souls the instant they keel over.
>>287831834Alright so to continue with the series Pokemon analogies, the new samurai guy has no noteworthy abilities or self-buffs, just crazy high Attack and Speed Stats with powerful STAB moveslet's see...>sarge the wall who recovers damage while debuffing the enemy>bleach head the versatile all-rounder>courtisan who sets up entry hazards>evil priest the fun but impractical gimmickWhat else could the party use? A dedicated support Mon for doubles?
>>287881393The support mon would have to not die since they'd be dropped right in the middle of a bunch of WMDs. That's what the spacing out was for during the Tai Sui fight. So probably Child since she could like slice peoples ankles mid fight. But why would she just not Sukuna them instead.
>>287881393Child is basically a support unit, who is frighteningly effective when given time to properly set up (dicing Tai-Sui's shikigami into meat cubes) but is very vulnerable once you know her gimmick.
>>287881735Is she that vulnerable? Her answer to High Priest was to just go for the kill instead doing one slash at a time. The next thing she's going to learn from the Tai Sui fight is to just hide her head waaayyy under or above ground and use her bunrei to locate her enemies.Watch her start cutting atoms in half
>still no TL
>>287881864>Is she that vulnerable? If you can expose her, then yeah. She's relatively squishy by Graduate standards - she simply knows this and takes steps to mitigate that weakness.
>>287830430The closest location on Yayoi's map to where Samurai was sealed, Ome city, is K tunnel, or old Komine tunnel in Hachioji, the one that the replaced member who possessed Nagiko and instantly defeated by Asura, and she went back to the tunnel in chapter 31 alongside Dorothy Considering the extremely high chance of betrayal by a captured replaced member, and the fact that it is also a female tunnel spirit that uses hair, I have been hoping that S tunnel spirit eats her to get a power up, so crossing fingers here
She really doesn't like Oboss...
>>287830308LETS GHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Warning sirens are going off in my head at this
Rental care GHOOOOOOOSTOOO
Keitaro enjoying Ai's more grounded reactions lol
I knew EV training was evil...
Flashback time
Off to war
Oh no...
....
Becoming a Kagemusha
Chomp
Uh, that's not good
Oh, that's bad.
That's real bad!
And that's it...next chapter, I believe they are heading to K Tunnel. That is the closest haunted spot...so, time for a Replaced showdown.
>>287883583>>287883601You missed a page here
>>287883525Thanks>>287883536she will eventually like oji san when he dies protect her or someone important to her
>>287883946God damn it...thanks for the save...
>>287883601Too strong, you say...?
Maybe releasing this guy at a distance with those cages might work? ...actually, no, what is stopping him from just destroying the cage or its closing mechanism, like how Priest jammed it up? Ok, scratch that.
>>287881864>Watch her start cutting atoms in halfChild learned Nuclear Fission
>>287883583>>287883946holy autism>>287883651>>287883639its an eiko power or something related to her curse? whenever there is a flashback from ghosts its seems we see as if it starts through her perspective
>>287883694this page makes me uncomfortable lol>>287883922i don't like seeing my yayoi organs like that...
>>287885507Just leaving it there seems like a bad idea in hindsight. What if the Replaced have a Voodoo specialist or something similar in their ranks. Maybe whoever Ooboss has tailing Yayoi can pick it up...
>>287885628Yeah it seems the kind of stuff good for a curse, flesh, blood all that there
>>287885628Unless someone from the replaced was following them, the heart would probably have been eaten by a bird or some other wild animal in a few hours
>>287886094Fair enough. I admit, I'm paranoid of those assholes.
>>287831242That's the point with graduates. They're ultimately random no name ghosts that were just ruthless and tenacious enough to survive Yayoi's little Gu ritual and feed of all the other ghosts.Personally I much prefer it when the ghosts are just some person with a vendetta over people who were already super special in life with the exception of NEW EMPEROR of course. Go too far down that route and it stops being ghost Pokemon and becomes Fate/ Ghost Order.
sometimes i think of events like japan being bombed in this serious would be such a bad idea since curses ignore distance
>>287886582If you think about it like that, the only thing that can beat ghosts in this series is a more powerful ghost. Since japanese ghosts have near omnipotence, but even they couldn't stop the atomic bombs, it must mean that the American ghosts beat the Japanese ghosts to open the way. Just how powerful are American ghosts?
>>287883666>>287883694Where's your motivation?
>>287887126idk but just going on the Marbas chapter alone, Western occultism seems to be on a completely different power scale than Eastern Occultism. DG is also a setting where the Japanese government and politics are in bed with priests and the occult in general, so just knowing what I know about the folklore of my own state (Appalachia anon here) the US in DG probably has literal deep state sorcerers lmao.
>>287883583wait a minute this is just pokemon...
>>287888232Always has been: >>287867133
>>287886515Well said.
>>287887949For scale: Abrahamic religion believers outnumber Japan's population 25 to 1.
>>287889248It's pretty cool that could come into play
>>287883536She sketched that out fast.
>>287883558Keitarou is now their piggybank.
>>287890309she is a genius afterall
>>287883793Damn...
>>287883558>Just got paidWhen did Keitarou even have time to tutor Ai and Yayoi?
>>287890486maybe he got paid for not letting she fuckign die and married to a lolicon god
>>287883912>>287883922That's absolutely ridiculous. Literally instant death with no chance to react if you're not paying attention.
Why is Keitarou still hanging around with that psycho bitch?
>>287890544Eiko? Because he genuinely loves her and would plunge straight into Hell after her. And Eiko knows it.
>>287883912>>287883922>>287883938>>287883946damn spooky
>>287890544she is literally his gf bro
>>287890544Because they are in love.
>>287892565Our hero!
>>287890309Still find it really cute that her and Asura sketched out his new form off screen.
>>287884439She's gonna use the egg. Or wait for him to get the shit beat out of him and reseal him.
So for a complete team what is yayoi missing or at least what could be made stronger considering we stil have 3 to go
>>287894434Still needs her wild card (Class 0 could fulfill this role), a decent support apart from Child and High Priest, and finally her secret weapon which will definitely be the Transcendent Jizo.
I want S Tunnel to get stronger by eating what will be left of K Tunnel ghost, but I won't hold my breath. Everytime I think S Tunnel is going to do something important, she never does lol...
>>287895806We'll get a graduate out of a Replaced.
>>287896282Hm, I guess that could happen for something like K Tunnel...but Yayoi is going to have to keep an eye on it...which is the norm for all her graduates anyway...also, Shami would dislike that...yes, she said she isn't broken up over what happened to her sister, but if her killer was right in front of her...well...
>>287896282Whilst that'd Yayoi's stated goal, it seems way too risky. Especially after Bleached Head worked with Shuten Doji and nearly fucked up the Murder of The Lord plan if Seimei wasn't there - and a Replaced should be considerably more dangerous.
>>287895128She's enjoying this by the way
>>287898578i'm about to put my little graduates insdie her if you catch my drift
>>287895128Take off the shoes and tickle the feet of a cool beauty!
>>287898689do you think she would get mad?
>>287898657She calls them kids which is weird because every single ghost in her collection is older than her by a fair margin, even Asura.
>>287899171Probably because they "graduated" from her school, with those captured considered transfer students, she sees herself as their teacher and they're her students
>>287835195Also Tai if you consider him a graduate, he's manipulative and self-serving but everything he's done after joining has been beneficial to Yayoi since their priorities align perfectly Perhaps unsurprisingly, the readers like the cooperative graduates more than the actively hostile ones (And Keitarou)
>>287899171She raised them, they are her children
>>287882662Yeah, Child's one of the smarter Graduates since she isn't blinded by grudges, engrossed in sadism, or suffering from amnesia
>>287896282I am hoping for Dorothy
>>287899171They're kids because she collected them and out them through their paces, and that will never change.
>>287897080>anyway...also, Shami would dislike that...yes, she said she isn't broken up over what happened to her sister, but if her killer was right in front of her...well...Which is why I think K Tunnel will be used as fuel for another ghost like >>287896239 suggestedI can see Shami helping Yayoi beat K Tunnel by freeing the spirits she ate, and then Yayoi reasoning that K Tunnel is now too weak to be recruited as a graduate and feeding her to S Tunnel for EV training reasons and to give Shami the extra satisfaction of seeing her sister's killer receive a karmic end
>>287904079That would be nice, but if they are getting to K Tunnel as soon as next chapter, I doubt Shami will be able to see that.
>>287883912>>287883922>>287883938One big problem I have with this new samurai ghost is that many enemy ghosts in this story don't really mind getting their body parts severed. Instead, the enemy ghosts seem to fear painful experiences like being dehydrated or starved to death more than being cut by a sword. This is why I honestly don't feel any hype from this samurai ghost who is just super fast at cutting things with his sword.
>>287883793Tearing out the heart seems really unusual for a murder, even during the Sengoku Era. I heard of samurai collecting heads or ears but just ripping someone's heart out and leaving it next to the victim feels bizarre.
>>287883922Why did Yayoi just leave her heart on the ground instead of doing something useful with it back home? Her heart will be wasted if a nearby crow or insects start eating it.
>>287885628I thought Yayoi cared about maintaining opsec yet is okay with leaving her extra heart behind? The Yayoi in my mind would have took her extra heart and place it inside some special teddy bear for the sake of the future.
>>287905194i don't think she had her heartripped out before desu
>>287905044Reminder, this is samurai in an almost completely sealed state, like Oiran, whose spiritual form is tied up in rope in the hotel. Yayoi stated that Samurai, even under the debuff of Sergeant's curse, is comparable to the spirit in transition, aka Taira no Masakado graduate form, whose punches are like hyper beams, he could probably send out slashes like firing off Getsuga Tensho
>>287905194she didn't want to let eiko see
>>287880274Please let the Warrior fight some sort of giant ghost so that he can split it wide open
>>287905044I think his opponent's will start freaking out when they notice their limbs or other important bits to keep moving are suddenly severed or gone.
>>287900878Even the ones that want to kill her?
>>287883996"He" has arrived...
>>287901507What a cool beauty
>>287905124Could it have been some manner of cultist?
>>287887126Weren't the foreigners that summoned Marbas confident that he could have slaughtered Japan on his own had they summoned him properly?Maybe the Americans were able to summon a few demon lords or archangels
Unless the Replaced have agents in America as well, I doubt we will see other foreign ghosts...at least from that far away. I'm still certain that Sarge picked whatever keeps his spirit around from somewhere else in the Pacific and not in Japan at all.
>>287910160A mermaid? Might mixing a bunch of legends around but don't the japanese ocean spirits come with immortality if you eat them and also possess an artifact that induces aging and frailty?
>>287910288If it is a mermaids spirit, maybe he ate something he shouldn't have...but it being war, he probably had no choice.
>>287830229I can't wait for Season 2 of Dark Gathering to show the cuck chainsaw massacre, shit's going to be awesome.Hopefully they'll add new scenes like the wedding chapel massacre instead of the aftermath.
>>287883525Nice to see Ai being smart and immediately sharing everything she knows about the ominous future Tai shared with herToo many characters in fiction keep those kinds of info to themselves and it almost always makes things worse
>>287909347>Maybe the Americans were able to summon a few demon lords or archangelsKubo gets defeated by baptizing him in the name of the lord Jesus Christ
>>287910806>give your girl to another guy and have him fuck her for 20 years>somehow he's not the cuckTo this day, I still don't get it
>>287905124Seems like it was a rape thing desu.
>>287911688I'm glad she wasn't going to just keep it to herself as well. I want Ai to be useful and good to the team...
>Kei and Ai left alone in a car in a secluded area
>>287912535>college student and a first-year high school
that was cool, but I hope we get into actual spooky shit again next chapter. Body horror curses are fucking spine chilling.
>>287912725If we are going to K Tunnel next chapter, there is potential of that fucker replaced trying to brain fry the crew like it did to that police station. Could get tense.
>>287912369The cuck may have fucked her, but she used protection so he couldn't impregnate her. Remember, the daughter belonged to the bull.
>>287912369>>287913428Even in death he's still a cuck, because even though he killed everyone who wronged him, he got hit with the ol' "Killing is Wrong!" schtick. Yayoi even cucked him out of the moral high ground lmao
>>287913428>i allowed my wife to be fucked by someone else but i'm not a cuck because she used protection
>>287913671he went on a mass killing of people that werent direct the involved which is what she mainly thought it was wrong
>>287912369It was one of the weakest ghost stories desu, just a porn plot.
>>287913671killing INNOCENT people is wrong, i.e. the wedding guests.those people weren't in on the cucking.
>>287913428Yeah. But the other man still liked and wanted the girl. The rich guy deliberately giving her to him and letting him fuck her just sounds like a giga cuck move on his part and giving the other guy what he wants in the first place
>>287914020>>287913765The old guy was big on the emotion behind it. The whole "hahaha you were fucking her but she was thinking of ME, Austin! You were tricked! You were nothing to her! Your life was a joke!"
>>287913908why would anyone attend the wedding if they knew the family were evil cuckers?By attending the wedding you condone the cucking, and thus are just as guilty of cucking and thust deserve a chainsaw to the face.
>>287914598we don't know if they knew they might have just gotten there and discovered the father wasn't the other guy and be confused
>>287914598Maybe they DIDN'T know the family's sole purpose was to cuck this guy and make his life a waste. What shocks me is how this apparently super rich xanatos-planning bull got done in by a cuck with a chainsaw, like wouldn't he have security or something?
>>287914693I mean...he probably thought the cuck wouldn't do anything, so why even bother with security?
>>287914810Well, all's well that ends well, the souls of the bull, wife, and daughter moved on in peace, and the soul of the cuck got destroyed...like a cuck.
>>287914921No they didn't their souls of the cuck, wife and his daughter were transformed in the curse
>>287915084Which got freed when the curse of the cuck was destroyed. Even in death he was a waste. It was the purest, most beautiful example of NTR beyond death.
>>287831112>>287883922Yayoi wasn't heartless after all
>>287905194Why didn't Yayoi donate her extra heart to a hospital?
>>287915920>Where did you find this heart, little girl?>It's mine.>...>....
TIL NOOOW I ALWAYS GOT BY ON MY OWN
Hotel is best ghost story cuck is worst ghost story
>>287871624Honestly he's more dangerous to the Yayoi crew than to whomever they're fighting.
>>287917572one day he will be the one to save them from a real big problem trust the plan...
>>287896282I don't think so, not any of the big names anyway. Most of the graduates are just strong ghosts with seethe-driven vendettas, but the replaced are extremely cunning and know a lot more about the mysticism behind how ghosts work. Trying to get one not just contained but also working for you seems way too dangerous.
>>287917407Evil Woman?
>>287918234Evil women are hot.
>>287918234She's just misunderstood
>>287919449All that boiled mercury and syphilis does wonders for the mind
>>287919801I've seen this before! All we need to fix Oiran is to find a military officer who wholeheartedly loves her for reasons other than her looks
>>287920857t. sarge
>>287910160Depends on how long-running the manga ends up beingWe'll probably get a world tour if we run out of Japan haunted spots, the series is popular enough for the publisher to want to milk it indefinitely, and the mangaka's willing enough to continue
>>287922053If he gets invited to a con overseas, Kondo would probably spend some time taking reference photos for a future arc.
>>287830229idk, i just want more of the loli with shark shoes
>>287918234Yes. She didn't start out that way originally, but she's long since lost it.
>>287922053Hm, we'll see. I like the series, but I always worry about a series losing its focus over time. Now, if Kuubo fled Japan to get stronger elsewhere (which is possible if/when the gang averts their deaths in Tai's vision), then Yayoi would a valid reason to pursue.
>>287914921>>287915084>>287915381Pretty certain most of the souls of those massacred got eaten by Shuten Doji very shortly thereafter.
>>287918663Literally in this case
>>287883902>>287883922I don't quite understand. Why didn't the ghost, instead, take damage himself when he slashed her? If the liquid dolls did, shouldn't he too?
>>287925164Apparently, he attacked so fast that Yayoi was considered "dead", meaning no damage to transfer to the substitutes.
>>287925164too fast lol
>>287923451>>287922053personally i don't think the author plans having something worldwide, maybe at most something specific, but he will likely focus on japan
>>287925164From what I understand, it's because Yayoi is classified by the substitute as dead the moment her heart was taken out, so the damage wasn't transferred since substitutes don't work on dead bodies. From Yayoi's explanation, it seemed like it's one of those manga trope where "the object hasn't realized it been cut" thing, and the substitute couldn't recognize the extremely fast and precise slash that literally didn't draw blood or cause pain, sort of like this scene from One punch man, but more seriously
>>287923474Yeah, people are forgetting that Shuten was the cause of a lot of crap in the area. Hell, he's probably ruined more lives lying in wait than any of his historical rampages, probably.
>>287923451Yeah, if they're going to continue the series past Japan, they'll probably have Kuubou flee Japan after the original final battle, or have it turn out that the Kuubou in Japan is only one part of the wholeThat way they can keep the original premise and goal while expanding the scope
>>287926853Keitaro vs WendigoYayoi vs DuendeEiko vs AsanbosamAi vs Djinn
>>287925164>>287925575I thought the substitute DID take the damage, but he attacked faster than the substitute could reform, excising her heart at that moment.
The only real way to gauge how a series in a monthly magazine like Jump SQ is doing is through its manga sales, right?
>>287927278If the substitute was damaged, we would have cut to a shot of it at some point, but we didn't.
>>287925164>Why didn't the ghost, instead, take damage himself when he slashed her? You're mistaking the substitute dolls to the graduate dolls, dude. The samurai's plushie doesn't have Yayoi's hair or nails or anything either so its not a substitute dolls>>287927278You are correct. The substitutes still work but the samurai can attack so fast and precise, he can pierce in the gap during the slime could reform
>>287927278it did but samurai attacked too fast
>>287927455You're wrong actually. The reason why Yayoi didn't allow Ai and Keitarou to follow is because they only had the slime substitute to protect them, while Eiko and Yayoi did have their hair and nails in the Samurai doll, thus believing that even if the samurai managed to get through the slime doll by exploiting the gap in between the slime reforming, he would still take damage if he attacked Yayoi due to the dolls holding ghosts also doubling as substitute dolls, but the samurai managed to both bypass the slime doll, >>287883912, as Yayoi said here, by doing the above attacking twice before the slime reform, then on the second strike, did it with such speed and precision that it inflicted zero damage to Yayoi's blood vessels and nerves, then slice through the parts connecting the heart immediately that once the substitute reacted, Yayoi was considered a dead person as she no longer had a heart
>>287927455Oh wait, I'm retarded, I forgot about this page. I guess the reason why is because it attacked so fast Yayoi was considered dead so the damage didnt feedback to the samurai
>>287927602Yeah, you're right. Thanks for clearing that up
>>287925575>Apparently, he attacked so fast that Yayoi was considered "dead">>287925581>too fast lol>>287925687>From what I understand, it's because Yayoi is classified by the substitute as dead the moment her heart was taken out, so the damage wasn't transferred since substitutes don't work on dead bodies.>>287927626>because it attacked so fast Yayoi was considered dead so the damage didnt feedback to the samuraiThis still doesn't add up. Any damage she takes from him, would have gone back to him. Even if the liquid dolls were momentarily out of commission, he was still available to take his own damage. If you guys are saying he attacked so fast, that there's no time for him to take damage from his attack from her, then by that logic, the liquid dolls wouldn't have took damage either since she'd be already dead.>>287927602>by doing the above attacking twice before the slime reform, then on the second strike, did it with such speed and precision that it inflicted zero damage to Yayoi's blood vessels and nerves, then slice through the parts connecting the heart immediately that once the substitute reacted, Yayoi was considered a dead person as she no longer had a heartThe first attack does damage to the slime dolls, and possibly even himself. That part makes sense. But, if I understand you, you're saying the second attack sliced out her heart so perfectly that it did no damage to her? I don't understand that, and it sounds contradictory. Even if he was perfectly precise, isn't the act of cutting out her heart damaging her? Like, even if he can separate her heart atom by atom from where it's connected, isn't that separation in itself a form of damage? In fact, isn't that the same as just cutting, but being really neat about it?
>>287928400>But, if I understand you, you're saying the second attack sliced out her heart so perfectly that it did no damage to her? I don't understand that, and it sounds contradictory. He's saying that the Samurai sliced out her heart so quickly and so precisely that there was no point for the feedback to transfer to him, because the substitute was already registering her as dead even if her body's reactions didn't show it. Substitute's do not work completely instantaneously from what I understand of Yayoi's description - there's a short window where damage is registered and feedback is accounted for, and if the host is dead then that connection is cut and the ghost receives no damage. The Samurai is fast enough to instantly kill people in this short interval and thus get around the substitutes defensive limitations.
I still find it funny how this series escalated from fighting the ghost of Kevin the Rapist to fighting literal top deities from various pantheons.
I think people are overcomplicating things. The whole purpose of this chapter is to introduce new concepts, specifically Priority and EVs.https://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Priorityhttps://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Effort_valuesSamurai is a pokemon with Quick Attack, or some other move with increased priority. He was EV-trained for Speed and Attack. We are likely going to start finding enemy ghosts that compound on this.
>>287928499>He's saying that the Samurai sliced out her heart so quickly and so precisely that there was no point for the feedback to transfer to himMy understanding is that the way the substitutes works is that if the person using the substitute would take damage, it goes to the substitutes instead. Like:>Ghost attacks>Before any damage would be taken by the receiver, that would-be damage goes to the substitutes instead.>Receiver is completely unharmed, and all damage goes to substitutes, assuming they still have a body to take all the damage. (If they are damaged to the point they lose form, remaining or additional damage overflows to the receiver, like what happened with Ai recently.)If you're saying he's harming her before he can take his own damage, then I assume you're saying the substitutes work like:>Ghost attacks>Receiver takes some damage, then substitute triggers and takes the rest.>Receiver is harmed, and substitute takes any damage after triggering (assuming its form is still there.)Is this what you're saying? He attacked so fast and killed her before he, the substitute, could take any damage?
>>287928499Which isn't what happened.>Samurai attacks>Substitute takes the blow>Substitute begins to reform>Samurai attacks>Yayoi's heart excised, Yayoi technically dead>Substitute completes reformation, ready to absorb new attack.
>>287929021Different guy here, but rereading it, with Yayoi's emphasis on how the attack was painless and bloodless, and how much is emphasized on precision such as the samurai's master being able to remove a piece of spine with a single slash, I assume the samurai is actually exploiting the inaccuracies of a doll, since it obviously doesn't have actual organs, it only takes damage that occupies the same space as the human body1. Samurai attacks, but creates such a extremely thin cut that it doesn't damage himself much, but enough to cut a hole into area of the both substitutes where he actually wants to cut, so for his doll, the area around the heart has its stuffing pushed away, and the slime in the slime doll is pushed away slightly 2. Samurai then immediately does a second cut, fast enough before the slime returns to the spot, and since the area of the stuffing inside the doll is pushed aside, no damage is transferred to it 3. Once the parts connecting the heart to the body is severed, Yayoi is classified as dead, and the heart can be removed since the substitute no longer works on YayoiThe samurai was so skilled it can do all of that in an instant
>>287929169>Samurai attacks>Yayoi's heart excised, Yayoi technically dead>Substitute completes reformation, ready to absorb new attack. After "Samurai attacks" should be>He takes his own blow. This is one of the points of why this doesn't make sense to me.
