Depends on how far back you want to go OP.There's the proliferation of web novels in the 2010's at one end and Tang dynasty poetic convention on the other for why they abbreviate the titles the way they do in the first place.

287831163 (OP) #Most people (in Japan) won't even read a synopsis on the back of a LN/manga to see what it's about, so they started describing it with the title. Some of it gets popular so the anime eventually ends up with those stupid titles.
This is such a "I only watched 10 anime and have very surface level understanding of the industry, but I think I know everything about it" type of image.

Jujutsu Kaisen might sound cool in Japanese until you actually look up what the title means, and it just means "Sorcery Fight." Demon Slayer is such a generic title (then again, the anime is also generic) the Japanese title isn't any better "Blade of Demon Destruction." It's too long and awkward. I also hate how the localized title mixes both English and Japanese. So it ends up looking like "Demon Slayer: Blade of Demon Destruction." Chainsaw Man is actually passable as a title, because I can easily picture a western superhero with that name.>>287834462No, it's not. Say you want to download or manage something like videos, comics, artwork, music, etc. and they have those ridiculously long fucking sentence file names. You could go your whole life and never realize that there is a character limit on various operating systems or programs. Not to mention the use of punctuation sometimes isn't usable. It was fine when it was just a couple of shows being funny but whole fucking seasons worth every season of this shit is god awful to deal with.

I can't remember where it's from but Miyazaki laid it out decades ago, older artist took inspiration from their real lives and a range of different art while new artist are just fans of anime and manga.
