Lots of twists, lots of ham-fisted voice acting, cue the camera tilt, pallette shift, and Latin chanting during a particularly big twist. As a strict subfag, I didn't even mind the dub. if they had established the Near and Mello characters early in the series, it would have cheapened L's death as everybody would know Light hasn't actually won anything.
