Feral...but still cute!New episode out
Thigh status?
Shiraha got shikigami-zoned
A fair amount of blood this week as Mao massacres one of Tokyo's few Christian communities
NANOKA KIIIIICK
>>287846012I haven't seen her panties yet. Interest is waning....
Some cool sakuga this episode. Not enough though.
*falls asleep*
>>287846429>I haven't seen her panties yetAnd you won't. Rumiko prohibited the animators from showing Kagome's panties. And that was +25 years ago.
>>287844973This is my favorite type of Nanoka.
ICHI NO KATA!THE BLADE THAT PUNISHES WEEBTRANNIS!
>>287846717>showing Mao's manfeet before Nanoka's girlfeetThe bad timeline.
Kita!
I believe this is our first appearance (out of many) of the elemental chartI like the stylized visuals they went with for this and some of the other bits in this episode
>>287846753we have already seen Nanoha's girlfeet several times
AMZN where? Not downloading BILI.
>>287846960what's the difference?
Mao has a way with the ladies
>>287846891>several times>2
I like this show because you have no idea what's gonna happen each episode
>>287846960I watch it on Hulu
The way they jump around is kinda cute.>>287847512It's on Prime Video here but I want it downloaded for archiving purposes.
Episode BLESSED.
>next week is a thighs episodeSweet.
>>287847868scholar
>>287846449th- they're going to suck him dry!
>>287848247How can Nanoka even compete?
>>287845551>greatest female mangaka of all time>warns readers that nice guys finish lastWhy is she so based? So devoid of cringe?
I wonder who animated this sequence, you can tell it's guest sakuga from the different artstyle and much smoother animation. I'm really satisfied with the adaptation so far, they're putting a lot of care into it.
naked mao next week right
>>287848833Depends on where they end the episode. This week they blasted through 4 and a half chapters, and based on the preview they're doing the same next week, but they could easily stop the episode right before it happens (there's a flashback where he's naked as well, but you can't really see him in that one).
bros I set an alarm for 15 minutes before the live ep, I woke up and then... dozed off...I only managed to catch the very last minute+next ep preview...gif/webm me genbu's appearance
>>287849327Genbu's looking good (sounds a bit silly, though)
Our MC is an old man whose body is falling apart and who dozes off in the middle of the street...
>>287848247Literally impossible.
>>287849627because it's a dude voicing him
>>287849730>old man whose body is falling apart and who dozes offrumiko made him for us, for herselfwe who are getting older and older, our bodies weaker and weaker...we are him ;~;
>>287849627>ENTER>>287849931YEEESSSSSS
>>287848647Comes down to raw power. If nerd boy could blast a hole in Mao, she would love him instead
>>287850952We've never seen Shiraha fight Mao, who's to say he couldn't do that?
>>287850952I think it might actually come down to Nanoka's only male role model being her grandpa
>>287848647She's a femcel.
>>287848578
In the manga the boar man actually shows Nanoka to the church in person. I was sad that they cut it.
>>287849638the only way to wake him up is with a kiss, quickly nanoka!
Just imagine how powerful a fully-upgraded Otoya could be
>>287852859Mao should attach tiny guns to the doll's entire profile.
>>287853017doesn't even have to attach tiny guns to the dollhe could give otoya real guns
>>287847212Mao, that's minor.
>>287847331Same goes for Rumiko herself!
>>287850952Nope, raw power doesn't mean anything if he doesn't have the dominant male personality.
>>287848647>>287845551Rumiko...
Nanoka is such a fucking cunt for taking advantage of the poor guy and almost leading him on when she has him in friendzone and is thinking about Mao's badboycock.
Why is the pacing so... slow? I haven't read or watched Inuyasha in a decade at least but I don't remember that one starting so boring. Is this problem with Sunrise or is the Mao manga also this slow?
>>287854708>almost leading himbold of you to assume nanoka's smart enough to know how to lead anyone on
>>287854727I also noticed this, Nanoka being able to travel back and forth between the present and the past seems to be the problem for me at least
>>287854727The manga also has glacial pacing. I think this is where I'm out, I don't want to commit for 26 episodes and it's not like there's a lack of things to watch on Saturdays
>>287854727>I haven't read or watched Inuyasha in a decade at least but I don't remember that one starting so boring.inuyasha has a very strong episode 1>or is the Mao manga also this slow?kind of yeah... if you were reading this as manga volumes then buying and reading 2 volumes isn't a time-consuming investmentbut in this anime format it's not until next week that we're finally getting into the Real Plot and we'll start seeing everything from the opening
>>287854727This isn't Inuyasha. It's a mystery show. If you find this "slow" or "boring" go watch some shonenslop that jiggles keys in front of your face, dumb zoomer.
>>287854889I am 42 years old
>>287854889nta and a current manga reader, but these early episodes don't have much to make it stand out from other showsand it's not even due to being a mystery, there are plenty of live-action mystery shows that don't even have fight scenes that pull in their audiences from the outsetisn't this girl's show >>287851100 also mystery shit?
I refuse to believe anyone posting in any Rumiko related thread isn't at least 28+
>>287854741jesus christ
>>287855046i'm t- totally under 30...!
>>287854992>isn't this girl's show >>287851100 also mystery shit?Yes but it also has a smart and cynical female lead and a bishounen prince that all the whores in the palace want but he only has eyes for the feMC. feMC also does anal sex only.
>>287854727The start of the manga is honestly pretty slow. You're being drip-fed information about the characters and the backstory, but since the actual cases they investigate ultimately aren't connected to their actual goal of finding the Byouki, they end up feeling kind of pointless. And even though a lot of the stuff we've learned at this point is important going forward, we haven't really even introduced most of what will be the driving elements of the plot going forward. The anime could have benefited from condensing these early parts somewhat.Starting with this episode, though, we're getting into a stretch of the series I would say is more tightly plotted, where most individual arcs directly connect in to the main story in some way and new developments are introduced at a brisk pace. This phase should last until basically the end of the season.
>>287845551>>287848647A Painful to watch but classic situation
>>287854727For me Inuyasha is a lot slower and boring, but it was what you had to watch back in the day so it had a pass
>>287846717Nice Inuyasha palette swap cosplay
>>287855587>The anime could have benefited from condensing these early parts somewhat.i wonder if this flashback could've helped as a hook to give something for new viewers to stick around for until ep.5 and 6 kick things off...>gifrel
>>287855414Grey hair ain't as bad as balding.
>>287855762we're talking about early episodes>I don't remember that one starting so boring>startinginuyasha starts off strong, go rewatch the first ep and see what i meanit does get slower as rumiko stalls the main plot but strong starts can carry goodwill for some time
>>287855838i'm sure you have a full head of hair anonw- we're not old, no siree
highlander soon
>>287845551anons, would you do research for nanoka if that would make you her shikigami?
>>287856329I'd do research for her because I wouldn't want to be responsible for her dying from thinking too much
>>287845551By the rate of this year, we might as well be calling it the year of the Shotacon.>>287845096Nothing like anything I've ever seen before in Rumiko beyond a Urusei Yatsura movie or filler, maybe.
I never got into reading mao, but I really enjoy this so far. Ill have to pick up the manga after this season finishes. >>287855046Im not gettig old, I look like I'm still in my 20s :°(
>>28785504633... I grew up on Urusei Yatsura, Ranma, Maison Ikkoku and Inuyasha.
>>287856574>we might as well be calling it the year of the Shotacon.i have my suspicions about the animator that drew this part of the ending theme>picrel
>>287845787>not satanic at allconsidering she wrote one pound gospel and now this
>>287848647because she never settled down and had children
>>287854889lmao thinking inuyasha pacing is good shows how much of a newfag you are.Inuyasha had a frozen pacing, but this show just like rinne has even shittier pacing and it doesn't help because unlike inuyasha, uy and ranma, the characters here aren't that interesting.
>>287856574>Nothing like anything I've ever seen before in Rumiko beyond a Urusei Yatsura movie or filler, maybe. What is that supposed to mean?
>>287848790The sakuga guys found who the animator was:https://www.sakugabooru.com/post/show/305172
>>287857618those autists are so fast
no pics of mao's bare skin from this ep?
>>287854727It just takes a bit, yeah. I'll be honest, I feel it really took Rumiko a bit too long to get to the good stuff when reading the manga. But it does get good and we have some exciting stuff coming up very shortly.
>>287844973Let me guess, she will pick the guy that treats her like shit instead of the guy that treats her well...
>>287844973I swear I remember watching something about the themes of this episode before but that's as far as my memory goes, something about nuns going to Japan a long time ago to build something.
>oh shit we're going to be the last girls in class to suck cock!
>>287860768i think single-ponytail girl already has
>>287860768Dibs on twintails girl
As someone that been clowning on the show, the episode was really good, but not just the really damn good quality, that was one of the best of Spring, but the content was also truly engaging and now I can tell I'm actually invested in the story, though I'm still worried about the fact that this is one of those series that will go on forever...
>>287861555>the content was also truly engaging yeah we're getting into the real content now, it'll be realer next week and the week after that and we should be riding good from there on outwe'll just have to see how the anime adapts it
>>287861555I think we're looking at 35 to 40 volumes when all is said and done. I won't pretend it couldn't be condensed into a shorter story, but it is not a filler-heavy series. It has never lost focus from its main cast and mystery, it's just very intricate.
>>287861853>I think we're looking at 35 to 40 volumes when all is said and done.by furinkan's count, the most recent chapter's the start of volume 33
>>287862188I think around 40 is plausible given the status of things like Mao and Nanoka's relationship, the new Kou clan members and knowledge of the Heian era incident.
>>287846753>>287847236This is the third episode we see Nanoka's feet.>>287846891*Nanoka's girlfeetWho's Nanoha?
If she thinks about him like this in a female oriented romance, it means he already won.
>>287863009she already saw him shirtless in episode 1it was over before shiraha even showed up
>>287863009>>287863024Hopefully she's okay with his body being made of bug soup.
>>287856778Female mangaka who've settled down and had children will tell you the same thing.
>>287862952
>>287863038anon did you even watch the episode mao is full of red blood
>>287862952>This is the third episode we see Nanoka's feetAnd next week is gonna be the fourth.
Why are they even trying to lift their "curses"? Superpowers + not aging seems way better than the standard human experience.
>>287865994They should be elaborating on that in the next episode.
Is the bad guy in this a giant cat?
>>287866410One of them is, at least
>>287866410He's a cute small cat most of the time.
Will Nanoka see Mao naked?
>>287848647Because she understands that women want a strong guy who can take care of them at the end of the day
>>287859824
Love Nanoka's cute fangs
>>287848578For starters, not use her fangs.
Finally got around to watching last week's and this week's episode. Pretty good. No real complaints. I like the ominous music for when Nanoka was reading about the earthquake. I understand people getting bored though. I don't know how you'd fix that though without really rewriting the manga. It is just a mega slow burn.I really think the other cast members are needed for some variety.
>>287862188I wonder if this will be her last long running series, 40 volumes at her age is crazy even with Rumiko's simple drawing style.
inuyasha is rumiko's magnum opus.
>>287867826yes
>>287869011there was also an anime-only angle from the front
>>287871133>I wonder if this will be her last long running seriesshe said this in 2021>This series, MAO, may possibly be my last weekly serialization. https://www.furinkan.com/takahashi/takahashi76.html
>>287872842It doesn't feel like she has trouble writing or drawing due to her age since Mao barely ever has breaks but I guess she doesn't want to commit to another decade-long manga in her 70s.
>>287852859I can hear the ominous latin chanting already.
>>287871831
>>28785504623 but have always been an oddball into old shit.
>>287869938>spoilerYeah, honestly the story only really picks up once it goes Highlander.
>>287872934She turned 68 last October She'll probably still make one-shots though
>>287855046The whole reason they're doing these new anime series is to keep her name alive in the minds of younger people. They don't go back and watch old stuff, so the only way they'll ever know about ranma 1/2 and urusei yastura is the new series. Only a matter of time before Inuyasha itself gets a remake.
>>287873423I don't think she'll plan for it to be that way but I feel there's a good chance Mao will end in 2028 on the 50th anniversary of the start of her manga serializations.
>>287873444>Only a matter of time before Inuyasha itself gets a remake.that's what yashahime was for
>>287873934Yashahime is fan service for aging fujoshi
>>287874099Yashahime is definitive proof that Katsuyuki Sumizawa is a worse writer than western teenage girls publishing fanfics on deviantart in the mid-2000s.
>>287848647realistically, mao is the crush or sex fling at most but shiraha is the actual end-game
>>287874266>mao is the crush or sex fling wild crazy yowling cat sex with maohis body eventually finally gives out and he diesthen nanoka finishes college or something and finds shiraha again
>>287874917exactly
>>287873464>I don't think she'll plan for it to be that wayyeah she doesn't seem to care about numbershitwherever her plot is when the hundredth chapter comes around is what it is, she just does the special lcp and keeps writingbut it does seem possible that mao could coincidentally end on her 50th year
>>287844973is this rumiko shit?
>>287875988yes
>>287873444>Only a matter of time before Inuyasha itself gets a remakeAren't you forgetting something?
>>287854889What mystery? The fucking opening already spoiled that the creature Nanoka saw in the fire was Mao and not the Byouki
>>287876423There's a bunch of other unanswered questions. The opening does bug me, but that's all anime openings.
>>287876423that's not even an important mystery anon, that's why they showed it literally next week's episode will show itthere's more shit that even mao doesn't know about
>>287844973I'm not tripping right? Did this episode looked so much better than the previous ones to someone else as well?
>>287877256They probably got the higher-tier animation staff for it because it had more action than usual.
>>287873195whoring mao out to the viewers
>>287878285They will whore out both next week.
I like the OP
>>287878790I like it after Mao slashes the screen. Before that, it isn't great.
>>287854708Poor guy, he spent the whole day reading at the library with a girl he has absolutely no chance with.
>>287850449What will be the secret of the super vitamin that Nanoha drinks? The next episode looks like it's going to be super important.
>>287854708>you should only do things with people if you're trying to fuck themSee, this is why you don't have friends
>>287874266Realistically Shiraha doesn't have the backbone to even be on Nanoka's radar, let alone be endgame.
>>287879940Well, would you spend all your day researching and reading just because an acquaintance asked you to?
>>287880262yeahI like reading and researching
>>287880387scholarbro
>>287846839so it's begun...
>>287876025MI doesn't need a remake
>>287873403soon
>>287876423That was kind of an odd choice. Same with calling the spider-lady episode "Spider-lady". I guess it's a symptom of the same kind of thinking that makes them add character name pop-ups everywhere.
>>287879940You shouldn't do time-consuming things for women in the first place if you're not dating them.
>>287882291UY didn't need a remake either but it got one. Inuyasha doesn't need one either but people are asking for it.
