I thought at first maybe it's a compositing issue or he's not meant to be touching the ground when he runs, but his hind paws really do kick lower than where they make contact with the ground as part of the run cycle. And then there's whatever his smaller form was doing sliding about the grass.Feels bad when animal heavy shows are like this, because you can see the animators doing the right limb motions as though they've carefully referenced it while working, it's more than most anime achieve, but they've got no experience giving it weight or moving it around an environment so it ends up floaty. If they had more time they'd be able to fix it up, but time means more hands and more hands means more wages. It's admirable how much they've managed, the director or someone must be determined to capture the differences in each creature as part of their appeal, but that only makes it stick out more when the main woof feels sloppy. Also he has ketchup hands and I'll never unsee it.
