I don't actually disagree with some of the madman's stances on things. Like the part where the story argues the importance of familial support systems in a society. But for every "Huh, that's fairly reasonable" thing he brings up, he then asserts five other completely bonkers looney tunes shit out of nowhere. It's an amusing manga to read that's for sure. But one thing I do actually hate about his writing is his habit of using characters as literal talking pieces for whatever he wants to say. I'm more than willing to hear out or at least entertain ideas, even ones that I don't agree with or find completely hilarious as long as the ideas are woven into the story in an interesting way. But this guy tends to make his characters just go on a thinly veiled lecture or diatribe about whatever the hell he wants. It's about as subtle as a hammer to a face. And I hate it when stories do it, even for ideas and messages I actually do agree with it. It's very hamfisted.

This never happened. He just started thinking even worse off that he had no ties with humanity and began seeing the maids as things separate wholly from him.
He's one of the most unlikeable characters I've seen and actively detracts from enjoying Daisuke and his antics.
