I honestly am still in shock over that ending. Even knowing how bad Part 2 had been, I didn’t expect Fujimoto to destroy his own story like that, basically making everything we followed for years meaningless. I get that he wanted to do an ending like The Big Lebowski (without realizing that was a comedy movie, while Chainsaw Man is a shonen manga people followed for years and took seriously), but there’s something beyond that. It feels like Fujimoto was just tired of Chainsaw Man and wanted to end the manga in any way possible, even if it meant deliberately ruining it.

Like, it’s not for nothing that the titular character tells the protagonist he was happier when he was a nobody, and then erases himself and rewrites reality so that 99% of what we followed in the story is wiped out too. That feels 100% like Fujimoto saying he was tired of Chainsaw Man and wanted to go back to being an unknown author who wrote with passion.


And btw, did you guys see Fujimoto’s comments after the ending? They were completely shallow, empty, and uninterested. He showed more enthusiasm talking about movies he’s been watching than about the series that gave him the fame he has today. But I guess that’s the point, he hates the fame he has.

I read the whole thing in the past 2 days.
Part 1

>Creative
>Barebones plot
>Too rushed, barely anyone or anything gets actual time.

Also I don't like it when a series is so whacky that it can just throw whatever at the wall and work, and this happened like every arc.
Now I have to believe that somehow everything got infested with super strong insects in 5 seconds with no chance for Chainsaw who apparently can vomit the eaten devils to rectify, Chainsaw man, the same who never dies no matter what you throw at him lost against some insects with War+Gun+Tank+Nuke at his side and the final word would be decided by Pochita at the end by erasing himself and turning back time for some reason.
What a coward ending, specially with how he made it be a forced choice by Pochita because they lost.
F*ck that insect bullshit and let Denji follow through his choices, be it unhealthy or not and let him bang Asa to see after that too.

2.Didn't do it until it became a forced choice because they lost against some insects o something.
