I'll be storytiming the manga, one complete case per day. Most cases are around 3-6 chapters long.
Feel free to drop in at any time, since it's mostly episodic.

Is it normal to dive in to see what caused a would like that, especially at a murder scene? If I got that, I'd want out of the pool as fast as possible.
>>
>>287874868
>can they really? and the line was in a pool, is there really still signs of fingerprints on it?

You're underestimating forensics, anon. Chlorinated water isn't some magical acid that erases all prints the second it touches them. If the line was synthetic and relatively smooth, and especially if it wasn't submerged for long, partials are totally plausible. We've had cases IRL where prints survived rain and even brief submersion. It's not CSI nonsense-tier.

>also the pool was full of people, and it's not a deep pool, no way nobody noticed a fish tank because muh light refraction.

Have you ever been in a crowded pool? Kids splashing, reflections all over the surface, sun glare, people bumping into each other - you could drop a whole body and half the crowd would assume it's a prank until they trip over it. Add distortion from water + tiles + movement and something like a glass tank sitting low could absolutely go unnoticed for a bit, especially if everyone assumes it's pool equipment.

Conan cases run on "no one was paying attention at the exact right second," and honestly? That's the most realistic part. People are oblivious.

>>287879879
Yeah, I remember this distracting me when I first read it too.
You can always tell which characters are drawn by Gosho and which by the assistants but usually they blend just fine, here the lineart of the desk ladies is noticeably thinner than the one on the main characters so it looks like a Roger Rabbit setting where some of them are human and others are toons or something.

>feels way more cool than Mahjong.
An opinion shared by the japanese themselves, they still think it's a game for degenerate gamblers. There was some study for what are turn-off hobbies for Japanese men to have for women and Mahjong was in the top 5
Westerners only think it's cool because they only know it from Akagi and about it having a reputably obtuse learning curve.

>>
>>287876675
For me, the decline in drawings came exactly with digital. In particular you can see it with food : DC had always had incredible care depicting food and nature, but now it's not always like that. Given the assistants stayed the same for all those years I can understand, but it's not as soulful. Same goes with the moon: since digital we've yet to see a single hand-drawn moon, and once there was serious care about it. If you paid attention you've realized n DC there's always two types of moon and no other phases. THe first full moons with KK cases has actual clouds and details. Nowadays it's a copypasted crescent of a circle in the sky :(
Fashion keeps staying consistent (but that one is on Gosho, not his team), and it doesn't surprise me at all: no matter the writing, especially about the new recurring characters, Gosho Aoyama stays the #1 specialist in character design. His dresses are always on point, always consistent, always 100%. Except shoes, unless it's COnan we're talking about. But he never cared about them, so...
>>
>>287881394
>>287881430

>The number of death

>>
>>287884477
Much, much respect sir.
>>
>>287886755
It's obvious Gosho made no plans about timeline and was just stuffing cases in between, until overarching secret agent plot asked for more details. And that's how we got around half a year of Conan and, as funny side-effect, Japan being a hellhole under shinigami's rule.
>>
Next case gives some important hints. Not like they were much needed, the solution was pretty easy to guess.
>>
>>287887951
>It's obvious Gosho made no plans about timeline and was just stuffing cases in between
AKA Eiichiro Oda creating the seven warlords, then the supernovas, then whatever organization when all he wanted from the get go was the four emperors.
Money rules the shonen format. Actually it rules everything in general, but the shounen format in particular.
>>
>>287890073
Conan from the start seemed to be episodic. Kinda obvious the main storyline was really just put in to justify the kid gimmick. I don’t think anyone still reading Conan this deep in is even invested in the main BO plot anymore. If we do ever get a conclusion, it would feel kind of unnatural cause you know it’s just Gosho choosing to accelerate everything without proper build up
>>
>>287890481
Not necessarily. Actually, the opposite. If anything can be considered "filler", it means all the main pieces are already on the chessboard. Everything Gosho is adding is side pieces.

The only issue is that he should plan a big conclusive case (assuming he hasn't already - fwiw I don't consider his interviews absolute gospel, so I don't know what he has in his notebooks) for whether he decides to pull the plug.
But since after his emergency hospital trip nothing happened (and he considers BOY/GIRL The Case, but again I don't trust his interviews 100%), we're going to have another Togashi situation.
I'm putting the blame exclusively on his editors, btw. It's the perks of being 1 the breadwinner of Shonen Sunday 2 a yearly movie franchise. That's what will block the ending.
Unless Gosho outlined something, or he flat out decides to retire within an explicit timeframe, editor kun will force him into side cases until he dies.
Not saying the overall main storyline should be something mindblowing, as you say it's first and foremost context for the kid premise, but overall there are recurring themes that hint towards an actual plot outline.
It's all the new characters that water the soup. Because they all overlap the roles of Eisuke, Shuichi and to some extent, Vermouth.

Does Takagi cums inside or Sato leglocks him?

Why does Gosho choose to bring in new characters like Sera and Amuro(I know they’re not the last) to show off and wank instead of just upscaling the characters that have long been part of the series? Takagi has worked so closely with Conan he deserves to reach deductions on his own
>>
>>287872493
Hey, she isn't as flat as you would think after how much everyone makes fun of her. Specially if you consider they're Japanese.

Also Ran using her usual bikini, nice
>>
>>287872508
Who sunbathes in a indoor pool? Also the pool is small even for an indoor pool. Ran, you're kinda easy to impress
>>
>>287893160
Takagi is too busy getting milked by Sato, he can't concentrate enough to step up his deduction game.
That being said, character development just isn't really Gosho's thing I suppose. It's difficult to do when you are restricted to be in an eternal loop of nothing ever happens.
>>
>>287873636
Honest kek
>>
>>287892379
sex with Sonoko
>>
>>287890481
I think it's kinda the opposite. Yes, it was somewhat episodic from the start, but early on there was clearly more focus on the BO being involved in things and Conan slowly trying to find info.
Now their involvement is usually tied to the sub-cases of "who's the BO member" who sure, is constantly present, but not much actually happens with them.
>>
>>287872910
Pretty sure that a pool of this size would take several hours to both drain and refill
>>
>>287872932
They should really raise Takagi's pay
>>
>>287880503
>>
>>287894143
>>
>>287893160
I'm actually more surprised about how little Megure does. Takagi gets most of Conan hints when Kogoro or Sato aren't around, helps set up possible murder methods and is put in danger very often. Also he knows WAY MORE pop culture and current Japanese popular things than almost any other character, maybe other than Ran and Conan. It's starting to feel like Takagi should be the boss of the two.
>>
>>287891043
I'm just surprised that someone so successful and that probably has tons of money by now doesn't just go "Hey, I'm kinda old and tired, I think I will be ending things now". Maybe it's because I'm terrible at drawing, but having to both plan and draw a (previously) weekly manga sounds like living hell.

Class 1963, different mentaliy. And he's japanese.
Oh, and some people just love their job.
Why should a multigenerational millionaire like Stephen King keep churning novels, even if he lost it decades ago?
You don't stumble on a manga career, unless you're Oh!Great. And even Oh!G is no exception, since he had evident talent for drawing since day zero it's near impossible. Maybe you can stumble on it as a writer, but not as an artist. You gotta love it. You're betting your life on it as if you were an athlete, knowing that if you don't make bank the backup plan is a job without education titles.

>>287895765
I don't think he confirmed it just assumed based on the zero thing

>>287896085
Think of Togashi: back pain memes aside, you think he needs money? Think he's locked by some contract? Shueisha is the locked one. There's only one reason why he keeps drawing HxH: he likes it.
If it was money he could just say "someone else go draw, I'mma write or some shit", without even the need for writing. He could just pretend, people would gulp it down.
He roughly does one volume a year or two. He even gave a sort of ending, both in the manga and as outside comments. He just likes to continue it at his own page.
It's the same reason, Takehiko Inoue can't finish Vagabond. He could, if he wanted. But he fell out of love, or simply found an empasse he cant/won't work around it. But he kept going with Real, who earns him... dunno, 1/100 of what a new Vagabond volume would earn?
Artistic jobs aren't regular jobs.
>>
>>287896217
Yeah, but I mean, Togashi is actually advancing the story. Same as Oda. Yeah, they could do it faster, but there's some progress going on at least. With Detective Conan, the stalling is reaching worrysome levels.

>>287895977
She was one of the robber, so going to the police also basically a death sentence for her
>>
>>287897439
The story pointed out that Conan nearly got caught. He has always been too cocky for his own good, and with him being more around agents that treat him as equal, as opposed to needing to hide around Kogoro and Ran, it's easy for him to forget and get too comfortable with the detective role.
>>
>>287895693
Now I'm curious can her plan still success if conan wasn't here, maybe it will take sometime to arrest them
>>
>>287902921
Conan only really solved the murder/suicide dilemma, her plan hinged entirely on the confession in the script being read by someone who wasn't part of the gang, so they would definitely be outed as criminals on that same day, but without Conan stalling them they would probably have an opportunity to skip town after seeing the news.

I love the smug aura, it goes well with a gentleman type.

HxH doesn't actually have a main story. The closest thing is Kurapika's revenge against the Ryodan. Except even that is false, because if you read with attention you've realized it's not even a revenge but just a mistake.
Gon's storyline is already concluded. Killua is a cool character defined by his relationship, there's no story. Leorio: kek. Hisoka: no story, pure random factor. The Ryodan has his own story.
None of them will conclude or find resolution, they are pure escamotages for whatever the current arc is doing. Nothing wrong with that, btw. But there's no real main story.
Oda's advancing is fake as fuck: there's always THAT PERSON in THAT PLACE who could do... THAT THING... he's being repeating the exact same arc format since volume 20 (actually from way before, but it was less obvious). Princess to be saved, timebomb or some equivalent, random infodump about the new setting that turns out to be 99% trivial.
It's fake progress, you just haven't noticed yet. All Oda does is creating new groups of characters, and thanks to retroactive confirmation people think it was all planned.
Meanwhile there's very few elements planned: Blackbeard, Joyboy, sea monsters/weapons and whatever caused the continents/islands to shift. That's it.

>The exciting world of foreign sports cars with Gin
Joke aside, Chianti got a spin-off manga. It didn't have much of a plot besides her going around for work, and showing off her curves, but it was still more than what main manga gives. No reason for others to not follow suit.
