does one piece get so much praise because of the emotional or "great" moments? like nami asking for luffy's help or that doctor sacrificing himself in front of chopper or whatever?even though the rest of the storytelling is dreadfully boring ass and these characters are flat and boring outside of these once-in-500-episode moments?if so, i think it's that those people are low iq and they can only judge series by their highs. and this is coming from someone who thinks chimera ant is the pinnacle of shonen.

>>287874350Much of One Piece praise is that it's managed to keep the ball rolling almost weekly for near 3 decades and I think it brings a lot of comfort to many of its fairly sizeable fanbase just to know its there and not going away any time soon. People are accustomed to Oda's style by now and can overlook the repetitive nature and just focus on the things they like about the series instead of nitpicking all the time - fair enough since I do the same thing with some of my favorite series
