Do you consider reading manga a worthwhile experience? I have a deep suspicion that /a/ does not or cannot read.
>>287875180I don't know what you said but Renge a cute.
I do partake in the occasional manga.
you can read a manga faster than you can watch an anime
>>287875180I am the only anon who can read. Yes, that means you are also one of the ones who cannot read.
Is this the Ren-chon thread? I can't read
What else am I supposed to do while I'm taking a shit?
>>287875370I don’t know what this anon said but he’s making a lot of sense
>>287875467you should switch to human food from slop, taking a shit should take less than 20 seconds
For the last year or two I've been reading most of the manga I do in Japanese. It's nice to not have to rely on the whims of translators.
>>287875180I'm an artist and huge art fag so I find reading manga worthwhile. Although I read manga much slower because of that
>>287875180Of course. I also support our brave translators with sick mothers.
I want to adopt her, lads.
>>287875180 (OP)>>287875560>reading htl (human translations)
>>287875180I never thought of Ren-chon to be the condescending type before.
>>287875180The only reason I want to read manga is because some anime adaptations are incomplete, and because I am trying to learn a bit of Japanese and it seems like a good way. So I'm gonna get actual Japanese mangos and translate them myself. But I'm only going to read stuff that I've already seen in anime and know I like and am mostly already familiar with.
>>287875366the japscreech isn't as bad either. Plus more pantyshots
>>287877392...go for itwhat a pointless thread
>>287875314Wow
>>287877423If our time mattered, we wouldn't be posting here.
>>287877449I bet Renge would make pretty good manga.
>>287875524>Although I read manga much slower because of thatI find myself staring at some pages for some time, going back and forth just to look at it again and end up finding a detail I missed before. For this reason I can't speedread anything
>>287877706She's a bit of an artist, isn't she. I'd read her manga.
>>287875524I'm that way with anime. I pause and rewind a lot to look at the art. Sometimes go frame-by-frame to see how they animated certain sequences. Even really little stuff like subtle facial expressions.
>>287877761She should use Hotaru as a naked model.
>>287877761Didn't she enter an art contest and win? I think it was a background thing that you had to pay attention to.>>287877864It would probably end up as some kind of weird cubism thing.

Reading is overrated, learn math instead.
>>287885277>Renge learns multiplication just by being told it's essentially additionI want to see how Renge learns calculus.
>>287875314Since I learned Japanese, I've read so much raw manga on so many different formats on so many different sites and apps that I could never be bothered to hop over to anilist to record them all or to remember them all to record them after the fact.
>>287885307That'll happen in season 4. She'll still be a 1st grader.
>>287875180I used to read manga a lot more than watching anime but when I started reading regular books I cut back on it in a way to economize my time. Because of that I've basically reverted back into an anime only>>287877408Yeah watching the CITY adaptation was painful last year after following the manga and not having to linger on the reaction shot panels for half a minute just for them to scream loudly
I've always wanted to see Renge's aspirations be destroyed and see her forced to conform to what's deemed normal. Not in a weird sexual way but like seeing her receive pills that make her a zombie who has no creative thoughts to cure her autism, made fun of for having original ideas by her teachers, laughed at by the other kids her age, etc. Renge deserves to have nothing to aspire for as she remains satisfied for the rest of her life filling up google spreadsheets for her fake job
>>287887466
>>287887499Please call the police Renge we need you relocated to a foster home in the city where you can learn to be regular
>>287875180I'll do you one better, there is a manga, but a really great rough gem called The Alchemist Who Survived and Now Dreams of a Quiet City Life. Its rough, but for a first time author its not dragged out, and finishes in 5 novels.
>>287887466Renge's not going to be an office worker. She'll be a farmer like her family for generations, ever since her samurai ancestors carved a river of blood to win this territory and rule over it and give it to their sons.
>>287875180Competed series is well worth it, ongoing manga series are damn near waiting game sometimes loads of manga that will take years to warp up that you are more than likely to forget it's even progressing or even the story.
>>287875509>>287885335>>287875314yeah i feel what >>287875314 said. (my manga list pastebin.com/WHgip1WC ) at some point i stopped bothering to track what manga i read, i think it was after clearing my backlog.
>>287875180I don't have the time nor storage space to plough through manga series, so I just watch anime every now and then. Though I would buy Kasuto Okada's stuff beyond Sundome if they were translated.
>>287893566It shouldn't take any more time to read manga and images for manga take up less space than anime videos. I don't see how either of these is an issue.
>>287875180It's worthy
>>287875366Holy shit Komachan is even smaller on the manga, she's as tall as Renge here

>>287891302Too bad they swore to gave it to their SONS and not their DAUGHTERS. Off to the shortbus you go Renge!!!!
I really need to read the NNB manga. I saw the mangaka was the original creator of HibiMeshi but doesn't do the art for its manga. Hope he (she?) does a full new manga at some point. Though I am interested in reading HibiMeshi too.
>>287875180I don't really like any form of comics. I'd rather read a novel
>>287901361This is a pointless statement unless there are novelizations of manga, which there are either very few or none. You could maybe point to the other way around where there are manga adaptations of LNs. Point is you can't read a novel version of a manga in most cases. Different mediums exist and offer different things.
>>287875180Yes I love children's picture books.
>>287901479It's always funny to me when people say manga's for little kids or it sucks, or the same for LNs and then go and say they just watch the anime adaptations. So not only are you watching the thing you previously said you didn't like/doesn't appeal to you/isn't aimed at you, but you're watching it filtered through someone else's interpretation.
>>287875180I've been distraught ever since the nyanpass site gone
>>287901517why didnt you buy the domain and save it
>>287901502it was a jab at OP for trying to act superior for no reasonI've read a lot of good manga like Kokou no Hito, Homunculus, and Blame.

i don't buy manga that much anymore. shelfspace. money. interest. i watch the anime version of said manga, but there are differences.

>>287901361I've got Renge-brain, I read that as you'd rather read a shovel.
>>287875180>>287877449I watch the anime too if I like the series so it doesn't matter
>>287891416I felt the same way. Currently I've tried to find a solution in hedging against that by just filling up my ongoings list with shit that's always coming out, which helps mask the gaps as I'm actively checking my RSS Feed for new chapters and keeping all my ongoings on the mind. It's a habit I picked up after getting really into comics and padding out my weekly Wednesday pulls to avoid the same issue
reading is cringeimagine looking at a string of random symbols and thinking it has some meaninggenuine schizophrenia
>>287875180I found reading manga to be worthwhile, because reading the d/a/ilies was the foothold I needed to keep me coming back to /a/ and participating in more threads, as before I dutifully stayed out entirely because of the whole >newfags need to read the entire completed works front to back before posting at all about a serieswhich didn't really mesh with me wanting to talk about chapters as I read them. That foothold kept me around for discussing seasonal shows and anime I had completely watched, and in that time I would complete more series and then be able to talk about them at length in their threads, and that only could've happened because Manga is so conducive to being a shared reading experience in threads.
>>287875180Yes but only NTR doujinshi
>>287901438NTA but I'm on his side in the sense that I have kind of have to make the choice between reading manga or watching anime, so I'd rather opt for a medium with "more" if i want a visual medium, and something that I can get more out of if I'm reading, so I'll choose books. Iused to read manga more often than I watched anime but as I begun to read books it's just a better way for me to spend my time. I still read some manga though, and I will admit there's a lot more hidden gems in manga + a singular artist usually makes for a more unified vision
>>287875314I've only read a few dozen manga, please share with us your wisdom anon, what's good??
