How do you feel about aged up characters?

Very early on I read that supposedly in an interview he said he planned on making them older throughout the story and it would continue with them after graduating. Either I misremember, it was a fake rumor or he changed his mind(or his editors forced him)When I was young, the very first moment I noticed that anime were different from regular cartoons, was when I noticed that the characters actually got older(it was captain Tsubasa), thus natural progression in the setting was always something I earned for in a story.It's certainly better than status quo or timeskips
